I'm sorry I haven't posted in a  while...I am going to go read back a few pages...eek...I have to go "rest" for a while...or hubby will kill me! I was given marching orders (LOL...it was a concern really...) this morning while I have the house to myself!

Just want to see how y'all are doin' so bad!

Janell:  navyknit probably has info on why those recruits were moved.

A corpsman is a "medic."  They do their A School in San Antonio TX.  They work alot with the Marines.

And, yes, 221/222 are brother divisions and do all training together.

Patrat:  "Hell Week" sounds worse than it is.  Just a very tiring week for them, but they get through it.

Comment by Janell on June 28, 2012 at 9:27pm

Does anyone know why they would move the USS Chicago recruits over to the USS Arizona? Also, can someone explain what a corpsman is? Makes me feel like a big ole dummy to ask, but I truly don't know exactly what it is! navyknit22, are you sure about the address change? My son is in ship 07 USS Chicago, but in div 221. Do Div's 221 and 222 do everything the same at the same time since they are brother divisions? Also, I love your giddy JOY, it makes smile from ear to ear!!!

Question for anyone who may know, my son wrote in his letter that I rec'd today that he found out that he will be in "A" school for 27 to 33 weeks and will then go to "C" school, but he didn't know yet how long that would be for. Does anyone know? and if so is that still in GL and will he have any leave time in between "A" and "C" school? He said that he will get his orders week 6 and then he will find out everything, but I of course have to try and find out before that :)

Thanks for sharing navyknit22.  Really appreciated.  Yes, NicksWife the 222 & 221 are brother divisions & I haven't gotten a letter since Monday the 25th that was written on the19th(Tuesday)  postmarked the 21st - his 21th birthday.  Lots of birthdays in this group.  NavyKnit my guy picked EM with ET as a back up.  What did your's pick?  What's a VIP?

Comment by Jenn_NicksWifey on June 28, 2012 at 6:17pm

navyknit- Do you know if their brother division is 221?  My hubby is in 221 on the USS Chicago.  I haven't gotten a letter from him since last Saturday.

Patrat - the scary chief may be from a different division...not ours :)

It shows the weather in Waukegan at 86 right now...they are right off the lake so I think it will be a tad cooler for them - so that's what I am going with

LETTER FROM MY SR!!!!  She says that she misses everyone so much and that she is not ignoring people who are writing her but she literally has no time so please do not take it personally but she so much appreciates the letters it's the one thing she looks forward to besides CHOW lol...she was sick last week but she is sticking it out.  They were getting to get ice cream on Sunday and she almost cried she was so happy!  She says that she just needs to get through "hell week" which is this week by the way and it will be smooth sailing.  She is censoring her letters to me because cussing has become second nature to them.  And she just found out after her A-school in GL she gets 14 days of leave!  So she will be home at Christmas and in February!
