Hi moms - after driving in from the west last night on I-88,it I know exactly why the sailors could not call last Friday. We drove thru 3hours of HORRIBLE sacrey lightening and down pouring rain. I have never, ever seen a storm light up the sky the way it did last night. Lightening touching the ground repertedly. Your sailors were safer in their ship vs trecking across to the phone bank.
BTW we got our Sailor callon Wed at 3pm. We were driving thru Iowa. OurSR had not heard about any calls taken away. He is Div 223. All passed.
Hope to meet some of you tonight. excited for tomorrow.
Safe travel for the last groups leaving today for GL. Enjoy the MeetandGreets tonight! Get to bed early/up early to arrive early....for the start of a phenomenal day tomorrow! Congrats~!
I played with the widget (the forecast is from the National weather service so I was hoping to get as accurate as one as I could...it just doesn't actually do GL...Gurnee and Waukegan though)and so far it says it will stop raining by 1PM...but we all know how weather is! I will pray for it to stop sooner!
When we left GL last May..it was thundering at the AP and the metal roofs made such noise...scared the you-know-what outta me! But it stopped very soon!
FTLW - the weather is pretty accurate. We've had several bolts that have lit up the sky. And I'm far enough away that I barely hear the thunder. God knows we need the rain but hope it all clears up in time for everyone to come in!
Oh my...it's raining and lightning in GL. I knew the Weather widget was interactive...and I have seen it snow in winter...but never lighting.
I know the WW is large but this is the smallest size for it to be so that it is interactive. Play around with it. The very top bar has the current date and time and then just below it the next four days...click the arrow and it will show more. Click the "LIVE" tab anytime to go back to current time.
The rest of the bar is for the marker (green) to move along throughout the day. You can click anywhere on it to change the time. So, if you don't see this until morning go back a day to about 12:30 AM and watch for awhile!
Hey...in the bottom left corner the number and the Olympic rings is a countdown for the London Olympics!
Wow...you can see the streaks and the whole screen lights up...
Sleep tight...to the Sailors and recruits at RTC...G'nite!
Your new sailors should be "hitting their racks" in about 30 minutes.....2 hours earlier than normal. They are all ready for sleep, no doubt! Congrats again!
