dbarton, I'm sure diannep won't mind me answering for her.  Yes, you will get the "I'm a sailor" call sometime in the afternoon after they go through BS.

Tampsha where are you all from and what will your son's rating be?  A School?

Comment by dbarton(ship04div223) on June 20, 2012 at 4:03pm

Thanks diannep - yes it does get confusing...so does the "I'm a sailor call" come the day after BS?

Comment by diannep on June 20, 2012 at 11:23am

Janell:  You are on the same schedule as NicksWife!

Comment by diannep on June 20, 2012 at 11:21am

dbarton:  No, they don't count Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays in the training week/day count.  They are on "hold" then.

So your division's 4-1 will be next Tuesday. Her division's 6-5 will be on Mon of PIR week.  NicksWife's division's 6-5 will be the Thurs week before PIR.  Can get confusing, right?

6-5 is when they are ready to do BattleStations.  HOOYAH!

Comment by Jenn_NicksWifey on June 20, 2012 at 10:37am

Janell - no problem.  I look up what they are doing and write about it to my husband.  Like next week is weapons training, which I know he was looking forward to.  I told him what guns he'll be practicing with.  We have an almost 6 month old daughter that he always jokes won't be allowed to date until she's 40 and that's the reason he got his FOID (Firearm Owners ID) card.  So I wrote, "You'll be working with the M-16 and 12 gauge shotgun, Katelynn's future boyfriends, beware!"  I love being able to give him a heads up for what's coming up there and some encouragement when I see there's a test coming up.

Tampsha, you can order up to a week before you leave if you are paying through PayPal. If you are mailing the payment allow more time for the payment to get to me.  I can have them finished and in the mail within a day. They ship Priority 2-3 day mail so I like to have them all in the mail by Wednesday or Thursday the week before your PIR. So you still have plenty of time :-)

NicksWife and diannep and dbarton, thanks so much for the info. Hard to explain, but I feel better knowing approximately what they are doing each day. I suspect I am not alone in this?  ; )  Now I can revise and be more accurate! I'm hoping for another letter today or tomorrow!!!

diannep - do they count Saturdays in their training week?

Comment by dbarton(ship04div223) on June 20, 2012 at 8:23am

diannep - I talked to my daughter yesterday! YAY and she said it was 3-1 for their division (she was in a push division)
