...should have put "bootcamp week/day count" below

Comment by diannep on June 20, 2012 at 7:08am

Janell:  Thinking that today actually would be 3-4 for 221/222?  I'm counting back from the day I think they may do BattleStations.  If this count is right, they would be on 4-1 on Friday.

Best way to find out is to ask your SR to tell you in a letter what training week/day it is when they write the letter back (and hopefully date the letter!).  Or if you get a call.

You all remember that "bootcamp" week/count is different from "training" week/day count.  They have processing days before the training day count begins and also some "extra" days before PIR.  Training weeks are 6 weeks long.  They do BattleStations on 6-5 (week/day count).  Weekends/holidays do not count in the day count.  They are on "hold" in their count then.

Janelle, my SR's last letter said that new weeks start on Friday and based on my calculations from his last letter they are going to be starting week 4 this coming Friday. His PIR is 7/20. Hope that helps.

La La, what's the latest that I can order the ribbons be for the PIR date?

Comment by TLover21 on June 20, 2012 at 12:13am

Hello everyone, I'm new to the navy for mom's website and my son's PIR date is the 7/20/2012. I'm a proud mom but mostly scared and the website along with the conversations has been very helpful to me. I received a letter today from my SR and his words were so encouraging and positive that i can only be proud of him . Im so anxious to speak to him to see how he's doing and I can hardly wait for July 20th to get here to watch him march.

You are welcome, thanks very much for the order. I will send you an order conformation and email tomorrow when I print it :-) I wear my Red Friday ribbon all the time.

Comment by Janell on June 19, 2012 at 11:24pm

Ribbons are ordered! Now I can't wait to get them so I can start wearing my Friday ribbon on Fridays!  I worked for years as an Activity Assistant in a nursing home and many of my co-workers and I wore red on Fridays to show support to our troops. I had forgotten about that and so will now start again to wear red on Fridays, especially with my Friday ribbon!!! Thank you Lala!!!

Janell, I am not sure what week/day they are on. I would look on our PIR group but for some reason I can't get to the group. I can get to all my other groups so it doesn't make sense. Not sure if others can get to it or not. I tried restarting the computer but that didn't work. maybe someone on here will have an answer for you. I am so happy you are ordering your ribbons from me :-) I look forward to making them for you and your family. I know you will wear them with pride!!!
