Love the idea for Navy Moms Show! It's so nice to come on here and read what others have written. I know that I'm not alone, and it also makes me feel better about how I am feeling at times. My family looks at me like I'm nuts sometimes, and it's comforting knowing that others feel the same, and I'm not nuts! :) I just love and miss my boy! 31 Days!!!
Yes, txbabydocmom: I think dbarton is right that this week starts week 4 for that division, not last week.
Welcome back!
txbabydocmom - welcome to ship 04 div 223 - my daughter is in same! So glad to hear that some who go to ship 5 do get better and continue on...but based on a letter my daughter wrote to her cousin she should just now be starting week 4-1 on Wednesday...my daughter went in on May 29th and was part of a push division - I am trying to track it on the calendar
hey all!! welcome to the crazy world of a navy mom.. i know you are well into your journey now!!! This is a good place to be to talk with others, share joys and saddness.... I was in your shoes in 2011! omg feels like yesterday!!! and I hated it... and still I shudder to think!!! With that said..it is over soon and if it makes you feel any better, bout 80% of the kids i talk to say they would redo boot camp. SICK KIDS HUH? so..this is part of a mommy's life... raise em up and send em off... but they are in good hands. Please do plan to attend the meet and greet whoever is handling that nowdays..its nice to meet all the women you talk to on here. My group did fun things together online, like we all decided to wear pink scarves (now i see all the groups do it), we posted pics of ourselves in our scarves... and made each other smile. Another thing we did is we all bought PIR ribbons from LALA Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons. Why lala? she has been a participating member of this forum forever..since her daughter went thru bootcamp... she has been member of almost every group here, offering advice, consoling and being a friend to anyone that needs her. She isn't just here to promote her business. but with that said, her quality is unsurpassed! She makes lots of navy momentos, and other military group items, but her Ribbons will be one you will cherish forever. and they look good in scrapbooks. I see she has just posted here .. so her post is below mine.. but you can check out her things at http://www.uniquememorymakers.comand on facebook too at uniquememorymakers.
I am totally cracking up about the reality show idea. I was just imagining the things I have done and some of the outbursts I have had and that alone would be a great show, not to mention the things my loved ones have had to endure. This has been the most emotional time of my life and I am looking forward to BC being over. I am ready to see my son! Thanks everyone for all the advice for where to stay etc.. I have decided to make a visit to my travel lady today b/c I will be moving about so much while there. We are almost on the way back up and I am excited for each and every one of us!
Welcome to this PIR group txbabydocmom, that is such good news. I am so happy for you and I know you are super excited to finally have a PIR date again :-) It's great that he will be so close to home for A-school as well.
I know we could be famous, and they could follow some of the moms as their recruits go through boot camp and see the transformation. It would be a hit for sure lol.
For anyone who has not found this group yet there is a Facebook group that is for any PIR date and DIV. Lots of people meeting there and finding others from their DIV and having private chats. So please join the group if you like. Just be sure to come back to this page and post any news or questions as well. Some people don't "do" Facebook and they like to hear all the good stuff as well. And you would be surprised at how many are hear trying to get info about what is happening to their recruit who are too shy to post anything at all. A lot of Mom's our age have never really used a computer very much so they are not only learning about the Navy they are learning a whole new way of communicating. If you are one of those or anyone else and need someone to talk to or ask questions in private here is my email address. uniquememorymakers@yahoo.com Send me an email and I will give you my number :-) and here is the link to the facebook page https://www.facebook.com/groups/327167160695549/
Hey, great idea that your son had, Lala! N4Moms reality show! Showing all of us typing as fast as our fingers will allow, screaming at "smart" phones that aren't so "smart" and type weird things, having emotional outbursts during bootcamp (and beyond!). Hmmm....good idea! :-)
Good morning all!
That funny FTLW they should know who Lala is as well. All the hotels there probably know who I am because I am always sending last minute packages to guests lol.
I was looking last night to see if Army Wives was coming on and my son, the 18 yr old who is hoping to join the Navy this Summer, said they need to make a reality show called Navy Mom's with you and all your "Navy Mom" friends hahaha. We could all be stars lol.
Noooo...but one mom reported in January that they knew who FTLW was! LOL
