anita::  It really is a matter of choice for each family on where to sit.  Some insist on the front row...the other most coveted place seems to be the top row, where you have the concrete wall to lean against.  My older son and I sat in the middle of our section and could see quite well.  If you get there early, you can try out several different places!  Betsy gave a great description of the setup there!  I didn't see my sailor for the entire PIR....buried in the masses!  I had to wait for the PIR DVD to see him.

Also, Lala always reminds you all to experiment with your camera in there while waiting.  Most of our pictures came out dark because we didn't do this....  :-(

Betsy, thank you very much for this information.  I'm sure it will be very helpful for others on this page.  My concern is my daughter is in 02/944 and as of yet I have no idea what she is doing.  I've been told that those in a 900 division are performers and so I'm guessing she will not be situated in a group as the other divisions will be.  Once again, thank you very much for this information.  I guess there will be a place for 02/944's guest  :-)

anita, there will be placards with each division's number on it.  They are in front of where your sailor's division will be standing.  You can then sit in the section of bleachers directly in front of your sailor.  If you can ask your SR ahead of time, I would ask which row and how far back they are in the line.  I was sitting directly in front of the line that my sailor was in, and their line was standing so dern straight that I actually couldn't see him.  I only saw hats and bodies, but no faces except the first row.  I knew that he had to be in that first line of sailors, because I could every single sailor's face except that first row.  Binoculars are also a big help in finding your loved one.

Just booked my hotel for PIR at the Ramada.  Only 39 days to go!  Each day we get a little bit closer.

Diannep - where do you recommend to sit during PIR?  Do you get to choose where you sit or do they instruct you?  Just wondering.
