Have you heard from your daughter or son?  My daughter is in Div 300 and she sounds good, but tired.  Interesting in hearing how your daughter or son is doing.

Hey Trisha-Ashley's-mom, I have been wondering if we're going to get a call for something for our son...but I guess no news is good news & everything like banking /paperwork must all be in order....I only hope!! Thank's for the FYI!

I was so excited I got to talk to my husband 3 times in one day! He had to call about sending me power of attorney papers since I'm in the process of selling our house, and then the other two times were about banking info. It was so great to hear from him. He told me they made him a group leader which I guess is a good thing. He says he doesn't have much free time.

hummm so about how long in your estimate Sobe would it be from Midway little to no traffic to the Ramada vs. from O'Hare to the hotel with traffic. Sorry - just tying to get my bearings - guess I could just Google it instead of bugging yall hahah

Sobe: Thank you for answering Lydia's question about airports. I'm from Central Illinois (three hours south), so I didn' know how to answer.

Airports: O'Hare is the closest, but Midway is a close second! Milwaukee is the furtherest - however there is no traffic from that city to Great Lakes, so time wise, it may be the best route. And often flights are cheaper into Milwaukee!

Hurrah - richsmom!!!! Well, Im sure they will become more positive in another few weeks when the RDC's supposedly slow down all the yelling! Great on the letters. Guess he did mention about them and calls huh???

Sweepea - since you live in Ill which airport would be closer for me to fly into - someone said Ohare but yall are coming into Midway???? Which is closer to the hotel from a driving perspective???

Hey Kelly, OMG I just hung up the phone from Rich. He was allowed to call because he had a problem with his routing number for his payroll. He sounded less than thrilled but said that it is much better now than when he wrote the first form letter. The food is not too bad. He was speaking quietly I could barely hear him and he didn't have much time.

He got my first letter already and sent one to me that I haven't gotten yet. One day they had about 5 hours of free time to write but he had paperwork to do. They made him a yoaman (I don't know how to spell it). I think he's less than thrilled with that. He's not a real paperwork kind of guy. That's why he joined special ops. Oh well. They'll teach him alot. Anyway from what I get from him all Div 818 moms should be getting a real letter shortly.

I mentioned that I've been talking to all of you wonderful moms and mentioned Kevin is from New Hampshire and Andrew from Washington. He was surprised that I'm talking to mom's of kids in his same division. Of course they don't know first names so as we learn more of what they are doing maybe they can figure each other out. That is if they don't have anything better to do. Ha Ha I hope you don't mind that I'm going to post this on the PIR9/2 and bootcamp sites so that other moms from can know that a letter may be coming shortly.

Talk to you soon and look for that letter

For moms who live in Texas:
I live in Illinois (about 3 hours south of Great Lakes) and my brother lives in Dallas. I have found that it usually takes 5 days for my brother to receive my letters. Just wanted to share this with you. Maybe it's helpful to know?
