Have you heard from your daughter or son?  My daughter is in Div 300 and she sounds good, but tired.  Interesting in hearing how your daughter or son is doing.

Thanks so much Trish..it is comforting...How did you know? Are you a veteran? If that is your beautiful daughter in the pic I am guessing ..yes. He is Spec-Ops or Spec.Warfare SWCC..I know they have to be up an hour earlier in the morning and was just so worried that his ship is even more torturous that I am imagining.

Good Evening ladies, been gone all day and told myself I was going to shower and hit the bed, but I saw my laptop and it was just calling out to me. So here I am getting a quick fix..lol
I have been on cloud 9 most of the day after hearing my sons voice. . . still at the drop of a dime my tears come on, like drivin up to the house and seeing his car which hasn't moved since he left, and I know I need to take it for a spin cause he told me to but I'm afraid that will be another break down. . .
EQ- I wish I could tell you something that would make you feel better but I know from experience no matter what anyone says it doesn't take that aching pain in ur heart away, but know that we are all here for you. I can ony imagine how hard it was for you to hear her cry, it brings tears to my eyes, and breaks my heart. I have a daughter to she's only 11 though. HUGGS 2 U!!!
Sweetpea I know how the smallest of details can have SO MUCH meaning, I'm glad I was able to share. We are all going through this together and were all here just desperate for a lil info on our future sailors.
Alright ladies good night to all, remember another week down, another week closer to our sons and daughters. I hope tommorrow brings letters / boxes for those of u waiting. GOD BLESS OUR BABIES AND KEEP EM SAFE :)

Shan--Hi! Yes she has a calling card. I believe they can purchase one at the Nex or PX. they have just about everything there, I have been told. No, she used the calling card to call. I don't know why for sure, but I believe she is just homesick and the long drawn out process of Processing week had just gotten to her, so now she is at ship 11 and a little happier.

Hi all...my son is also on Ship 4....although Div.818...that was a VERY nice PO to let "them" make calls..I have a question for you...Do your sons and daughters have calling cards? My son does not, are they able to purchase them at the "Nex" ? Did they call you from a phone w/o using a calling card? Sorry that was many questions..So concerned now with why your daughter is so thankful to be off the ship my son is on...
Comment by EQ on July 18, 2010 at 11:25pm
. They were going to the Nex for supplies and the Petty Officer let them make a call.
Comment by EQ on July 18, 2010 at 11:22pm
junjens--Don't let it worry you, it might have been just that she is so homesick that she didn't like much of anything.

EQ my son is on ship 4 div 291, so that worries me if you daughter didn't like it! I haven't gotten any calls.
