Have you heard from your daughter or son?  My daughter is in Div 300 and she sounds good, but tired.  Interesting in hearing how your daughter or son is doing.

Ok, I will try to make this as concise as I can since I don't want a wall of text here.
For those who have missed my other recent posts because of the speed of this group, my girls 19th birthday is today. I have the necklace I got her awhile ago, but I wanted to put it on her in person when I see her and that may not happen for just over a month. I was just gonna call her and maybe mail a couple other things I had gotten her before so she could have on her birthday. I didn't get her address in time to mail the stuff. She expressed on the phone with me and on facebook about how she couldn't be happy and just wanted to be alone on her birthday and she was spending it alone. I knew then I had to do something, and I thought of flowers. This was yesterday

To help with logistics and likelihood of her actually receiving flowers I talked to Craig who helped me out a ton. He asked if I knew her barracks and room number which I didn't. She actually called me while I was chatting with Craig and I asked her. Was fun making up an excuse for why I wanted to know them lol. Knowing those numbers turned out to help a ton in all this, so get them from your sailor if you plan on sending flowers. I was going to use 1800 Flowers but due to what Craig was telling me I changed my mind and went with FTD instead. Had to make around a half a dozen calls to various people, FTD like 3 times. Called 2 different NEX's on and around Corry and got info. Called the local florist that was referred to me by the NEX in Corry Station. They didn't have a website but said they worked with FTD and them along with other assured me they would get through fine.

So, I call FTD for the last time and place the order. I give them the whole story of what I am trying to do. I give them all the info I have. Address, zip, PMB number, barracks number and room number. They gave the florist special instructions and I gave them my cell number and her cell number in case they needed to call her to come and get them at the gate or whatever. They said they would call me if there was any problems and would send me an email when they arrived. Which they did.

They sent me an email at 2:05pm my time (1:05pm her time) saying they had been delivered. It's 3:20pm my time right now btw. I was wondering how they were delivered. If they were left at the gate, if someone took them to another area or what. I assumed she hadn't actually seen them yet as she is still in class. I was just typing my reply here about getting the email confirmation and my phone rings and its her. This was at 2:20pm 15 minutes after I got the email. First thing she says is I love them. Says she is on a lunch break and couldn't talk long, but I asked how she received them. Said she was going to her room and when she opened the door there they were. Said she was laughing and smiling and said it was the best bday she could remember (sad if true considering she is away from all family and friends and me lol).

So, yeah call FTD. Get the most info as you can and if you actually get the barracks and room number of your sailor, its likely they will be in their room waiting for them to come and see them. Couldn't have went any better. I will end this saying call and make the order because of all the special instructions you will need to give and I think its a must to do it with a person on the phone rather than trying to order them online and type all the info and not being sure if whoever reads it understands the situation fully. Just use the FTD website to pick what you wanna send then call the number and place the order that way. I wouldn't place the order online.

YYYYAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

lol sorry. Im typing my reply now. Gonna tell the story and everything. Not only did she get them but they were in her room. I told the florist her barracks and room number. She said she went in on her lunch break and they were in her room. She was so happy. Said it was the best bday ever, which means a lot considering how sad she was she was spending it alone.

Anyone who wants to send flowers look out and save my next post, I will give all the details. It couldn't have went any better. Well better would have been if they gave it to her during class in front of everyone but lol i knew that wouldn't happen. Its the second best option though.
