For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

my son left july 7 and I still have not received his box or the form letter. Luckily I received a call from him and he have me his ship and division. Does anyone know if I can start sending his letters since I have that info. Does anyone know the address?

I was just wondering why there isn't some photographer taking pics. of the recruits and putting them on this site. My son is in the Army and they have a website that shows pics. of them every other day except weekends, plus this person also blogs about what the soldiers will be doing every other day, at least it puts my mind at ease being able to see him occasionally.

Sobe- I think she is a Grad & Go. I haven't heard anything exactly. I haven't received the form letter yet, nor have I received a letter from her, but since she has only been in since 07july, i'm sure she has not been allowed to write. I have been told that it takes up to 2 weeks for them to get mail since there are alot of recruits at this one and only Navy BC. I just wish I could hear how she is doing. Saturday is her 21st B-day and I wish I could tell her Happy B-Day and give her a BIG HUG and KISS.

FYI: When reading all the tips you will receive about PIR weekend, keep in mind that most graduations are held on Fridays, unless the Monday after PIR is a holiday, then it's on a Thursday (like this groups' is). So when you read "arrive on a Thursday and stay until Sunday", ignore that.
Your meet & greet at the Ramada Inn will be Wed 9/1 from 6-8pm, so try to arrive in midday to Great Lakes. "Most" new sailors who are not Grad & Go's have more liberty on those long weekends, so you may want to stay until Monday!

EQ - Your daughters A-School is at Great Lakes?? She could still be a Grad & Go, some are and some are not. If she is, you will be VERY happy to hear what the perk is for being a G&G over to GL. Join the Grad & Go Info group to learn more.

Hi Everyone, I have not rec'd the form letter yet...hoping it will come tomorrow but I do know that our son's ship 4 div 818 so it looks like his PIR will be 9/2 also.
