Good afternoon Mark, I'm sending well wishes your way even though you have essentially broken my heart! I'm a little bit pass 34 y/o and, unfortunately, I do not have any previous military service...unless JROTC counts?! lol Well, so much for that idea...will have to come up with another one. Can you help me?

Lauren, I'm with you on the spoiled factor, so I guess maybe it all worked out for the best. That funny...er is that ironic...that you mentioned that the being married was harder than being a single parent. I can so relate to that.

Hey Cheryl, glad you got to speak to your son yesterday! Where was he deployed? I would love to visit San Diego one day myself. You are one Lucky lady/mama.

So you have one Navy son and one Army daughter & son in law to visit! Which states have you been to so far to see your children?? I've been to Rhode Island, Maryland and Virginia so far. Anyone else want to share their travel adventures visiting their military child/ren.

EVERYONE please have a great week!!

I don't know I think my tolerance level has grown with age................I was pretty spoiled when I was younger......OMG make my bed are you CRAZy............lol

It looks like the maximum age to enlist in the Navy is 34, unless one has prior military service. I'm a little surprised it's that high actually - it's probably due partially to fitness, and also that as we get older, we have less tolerance for some of the boot camp "games".

Ok Sherry you can enlist with out me ..............I don't know what has happened, but I have found myself on my old path in life.....after being a mom ( only married for 3 of them ...which was actually harder) for 27 years.............now that my son is 18 & I get him settled in to what direction he is going to pursue & of course as soon as I get this ankle the best it is going to be.............I"m going to join the Peace Corps.(if they will have me)

Sandra, thanks for the well wishes! You too and everyone have a great weekend!

Just received a beautiful post card from my sailor from sunny Ft. Lauderdale, FL. She says she wishes she could pack her brother and I in her suitcase to travel on her adventures with her. Who is she telling?!! I'm all over that!!

Sandra, I do understand about the sibling whose not Navy thinking you care more about your Navy child. They see so much attention going to the one in the Navy and may be it seems to them that that child is our only focus, which is certainly not the case. Any other parents out there experience this phenomenon also? How did you deal with it? Tell all. ;>D
