Just got a call earned for a "perfect rack". Says the division has actually started coming together. They do have a flag now. On day 3/4 she thinks She sounded very pumped. I asked her what she wanted after boot and she said SWEETS! lol. Flying out 4 am sat am after pir for sc is what she was told.
When my daughter was at bootcamp and had been there less than 2 weeks one of the girls she had met in DEP before leaving was on the computer at bootcamp. But, she had fallen down some stairs and broke her leg and was waiting to see if she would be sent home or stay there to heal. She wait more than 4 weeks before she finally came home and she said they got computer time every Saturday. She talked to me one day on facebook and said she had just seen my daughter and that she was doing very well. She said she wanted to tell her that she had talked to me but they were not allowed to talk to them or anyone else lol. So who knows, scam? Maybe or maybe a whole division doing some pretty intense IT right now :-(
thanks for sharing Arwen. :)
Yay Eljac913 glad you got a call!
There are a bunch of computers at the RTC "Ricky Heaven," which is the recruit R&R area. Once recruits get to their 4th week they can begin earning time at Ricky Heaven. It has a huge video arcade, a comfy couch lounge with a giant-screen TV, a phone bank, a bunch of computers, a food court with four fast-food places (Burger King, Subway, Panda Express and a Pizza Hut), and a convenience store.
Usually the RDCs will put the computers and the TV lounge off-limits, but in the last week or two they are sometimes allowed. For newly graduated sailors who have no family to take them out during PIR weekend, they often spend the whole weekend at Ricky Heaven and have full access to the computers and TV lounge.
OTOH, it has been known for recruits to sneak a few minutes on one of those computers when they don't have permission, and when caught both the individual recruit and their whole division are punished rather severely for the infraction.
yeah, i just know my husband hasn't contacted me, and the guy was saying he was in the same ship/div. So I didn't think it could be right.
Hmmm...interesting. I was thinking that this must be a recruit who PIRed yesterday. They get access to the computers after Battlestations (they pay for it) and hasn't left RTC yet. They can go on FB then. In fact, I tell people on the group that if they didn't receive the I'm a Sailor call, and they have access to their sailor's FB page, check it because many are notified that they have a sailor from that rather than the phone call. If the phones are busy, then often they will buy computer time to get on FB. So maybe this guy is actually a sailor? Not sure, but better to delete like you did just in case.
I got a phone call this morning. So happy to hear my SR's voice.
