Lala - How exciting!!! Have a wonderful time and enjoy every minute you can with them!
Good Morning Ladies! Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
accepted your friend request/messaged you, gc.
Yep, Lala and juliebelle are correct. If she didn't pass her PFA yesterday, she will now be in FIT. They try every M-W-F....now, her BattleStations should be next week (can't be more specific on here with the exact date...not allowed)...if she passes before they go through, she will join her division for BattleStations. If she doesn't pass before they go through, she will continue in FIT, testing every M-W-F until she does---she will then do Battlestations with another division and if before her PIR, she'll be there. If NOT before her PIR, she will not have a PIR, just would complete Battlestations with another PIR group once she passes the PFA, have the capping ceremony (they trade RECRUIT caps for NAVY caps) and head straight to A School.
So...she actually has about 5 more chances to pass right now in order to still make her PIR. Prayers!
JanieRN, he is right about only 7 divisions for this this PIR group and like Diannep said unless they have changed something very recently you should be able to as many extra guests as you like and shouldn't have a problem getting in.
Good morning everyone. :-) Our Sailor is home from her base in VA and we have lots of family members here from Charlotte, SC, and Alabama, Graduation is later this afternoon for my son and step-daughter. We are so proud of them and happy to be spending the weekend with our family. I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend.
gc- juliebelle is right if she didn't pass it they will give her more chances. I believe she can try every other day to pass to pass it. If the set her back to the fit division she will keep trying until she passes. When she passes it she will go through battle stations with the next DIV if her own division has already gone through. It may even be a DIV from the PIR group after her own. They usually have some DIV's who through a full week before their own PIR just for this reason. They really want them to pass and they will help them make it happen. If she is set back she will be told to call you and telly you that she won't be having PIR and for you not to come. Please Please PLEASE do not change your travel plans or cancel flights just yet. This is a required call and if she can pass before PIR she will still be at PIR. I have seen this happen several times and families cancel flights then get another call to say they passed and to please come to PIR. This can end up costing a lot of money for the family so it's best to wait and give her a chance to get it done. If she makes that call she won't be able to talk much at all. And she will likely be upset. Just tell her you are not changing your plans unless until you hear from her again and you know she can do this and encourage her as much as you can. For now all you can do is go with the "no news is good news" theory and think positively that she will get this done. And, like you said, maybe she already did :-) My thoughts and prayers are with you and her.
My son is Ship 3 DIV 175, anyone out there with a son in DIV 175 or 176 who is staying in GL for A- School for OS? My son has met someone and become friends, just wondering if its one of the Moms I have already been talking to?
Thanks, Kathy
No, I think you are right, Ellen. There are no graduation "tickets" given out. They go by the names on the list, which the SRs are allowed to update a couple of weeks before PIR. Unless that has changed this week??? I would think there could be a problem with "lost" tickets...would be easier to have names on a list.
Janie: Not sure I understand what you mean about graduating with 7 divisions and not 15??? There are only 7 divisions in this PIR group so that is all that will be graduating that day. As far as extras getting in, even with a PIR group of 14 divisions, all of the extras got in. So, shouldn't be a problem. Sadly, so many sailors there have no one to represent them, so there is usually space.
Having said that, you all feel free to tell your SRs to invite others to spend some time with your family on PIR day if you want...those who will have no one there. They SO appreciate this! They are allowed to leave base on the buddy system if they want, but so many would prefer to be with a family if possible. So think about it and put the "bug" in your SR's ear to see about that!
Oh yeah, he is given the opportunity to change that list so maybe that's where this is coming from.
