Well, mystery solved!  She ran out of minutes on phone card, but her shipmate, Sam, sent me a FB message and told me she's good to go for graduation!  Hooray!

Lala and ProudMominJersey, thanks for the support...I am quite sure I would have gotten a call if something negative had happened, so I am going to go with the notion that "no news is good news" and wait it out!  Less than two days will we see our sailors!  I am so excited...and I know y'all are too!  I cannot wait to meet all the moms from this site...I want to give each and every one of you a hug and say thanks for being on here...it helps!!!

Lala - contact me when you know more about your lunch in St Pete!  I'll be down in FL again helping get things ready for my daughter's wedding on July 15th!  I would love a day away from it all and get to meet you!  Hope it all works out!

Good Morning Everyone!  Wishing everyone safe travels to PIR and home again!  Enjoy your time with your new Sailors!  It's awesome, they are awesome.  Be proud!

Comment by diannep on June 6, 2012 at 8:07am

ProudMominJersey:  I agree with Lala...that seems a bit late for her to fly out and even if true, I think you would have more time with her at the airport than that?  She should know more on PIR day.

Gammi:  My guess is that you can hang out at the airport with her starting in the wee hours of Sat morning, which is when they are usually bussed there.

Hoping that her not calling was because she had watch and that she will call today.  Did someone post that all in 176 passed?  If so, she is a sailor!  Hoping you hear from her soon.  And, as far as directions to the airports--I agree with Lala...do it now...however...the hotel can do that for you too.  My sailor son worked for Marriotts before he became a sailor and did that alot!

Kathyrc - Thank you! :)

Gammi- I am so sorry you didn't get a call. I would check with family and friends and make sure no one else got one if she did try to reach you. Also if you haven't already check your messages. My phone doesn't show that I missed a call if the person calling leaves a message. The Sailor can fly out of either airport so I would print the directions in case you need them. I would think most fly out of Ohare but I know they use other airports. I hope you are right and she just had watch and will get a make-up call today ;-)
