Yay, another group. I know you are all anxious to get started and have this bootcamp experience behind you :-) The good thing is you won't have to worry about snow lol. And your Sailors will graduate in the Dress White Uniforms or Cracker Jack's as they are sometimes called. Shout Wipes will become your Sailors new best friend lol.

I am Lora, better known as Lala the Ribbon Queen lol. I have been on this site for almost 2 years. My daughter left for bootcamp May 25th 2010. I cannot believe it has been that long. It seems like on a few short months ago. I know 8 weeks seems like an eternity but it will be over before you know it. The days will drag by but the weeks will pass quickly :-) For now get your pen to paper and start writing those letters. Mail call is the sweetest sound in the world to the recruits other than when they get to call home and hear your voice :-) Even if they said you don't have to write do it anyway. They will change their mind.

If you have any questions at all please ask them on this page. There are several of us who are hear every day helping out and answering questions and we love it. We spend most of our time on the main PIR group main pages like this one and have several PIR groups that we are active on. So, we may not always find your questions if they are posted on discussion pages instead of here.

Have a great time getting to know your new NAVY family. They will understand you and what you are going through better than you own family will on most days. Welcome to Navy for Moms!!!

My daughter left on 4/9 . I haven't received the form letter but she is supposedly in ship 2 div 930 . Has anyone gotten a form letter for this group?
Comment by CAB on April 18, 2012 at 6:05pm

Hello.  My son left on 4/9 and is Ship 09/Div 172.  We received the form letter on Monday that PIR is 6/8.  Looking forward to going through this process with everyone!

Comment by PaulaP (Ship11/Div 178) on April 18, 2012 at 5:36pm

Haven't received the form letter but am thinking this is the correct group. If not, I'll join the 6/15 group.

Gc0972 - I sent you a friend request. I am one of the veteran moms on the PIR groups. Please make me an admin to the group...I normally help get the PIR groups off the ground. :-) Thank you for forming the group!
