I am going to give you all my "My son the zombie" post...lol

Be aware that your sailor may be very tired when you get him on that Friday. My son fell asleep at every given chance but still wanted to go go go. Not unusual, as they have been getting very little "good" sleep for a while. They may fall asleep in the car, leaning against a wall etc...lol.

Also, they may be very wary of those around them when off base. They are given the word that even though they are no longer in BC there are people watching them and everything they do, maybe even officers not in uniform.

My son on the first day looked at everyone around him wondering if they were "the one" to catch them doing something wrong and frankly seemed paranoid. Just give them a friendly reminder of covers (hats or lids) off inside and on outside and anything else you may notice.

If this happens to your sailor no worries, it does happen, they will be fine in a few hours. They just have to get use to being in the real world and still behaving like a Sailor. I guarantee the person you sent to BC is still in there.

Have a super weekend everyone it is going to be something you will never forget and that first hug after PIR is like no other hug you have ever received.

Congrats everyone!

'kathyrc' - a special thank you to you for all the encourgaing words throughout these past weeks...I was a total wreck the first week my son left and stumbled upon this site - you always had the kindest and most encouraging comments, even though you were in the same boat...I will always appreciate that!

And for the other veteran moms who keep this site up and running...I will be forever grateful...thank you ladies!
