For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

drjh: Message Lala about the ribbons. You can go to her page and see pictures. They are beautiful....never have heard of a dissatisfied customer! She is very efficient in getting them to you all also.

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on September 22, 2011 at 9:23am: Hi Kris' proud mom, It is definitely not too late to order ribbons. Just send me a friend request or message and I will send you the info for placing the ribbon order as well as some helpful tips for PIR.

I believe your recruiter is right. Most of the extra guests going to PIR will get in. There are always recruits who only have one or two going to PIR and many have no one coming. Which is very sad but it happens a lot. We took 4 extra guests with us and had 13 DIV's graduating and everyone still got in. They are first come first serve so your chances are better if you get there early. I recommend getting in line by 6:30. If you are there early enough she probably won't even have to wait to get in, especially with 11 DIV that day. I am sure she will get in without any problems.

Lala ribbon queen in particular... i'm catching on here, slowly but surely... is it to late to order ribbons for us for oct 14th graduation?? We have 5 going... which leads me to another question.. my SR's girl friend will be flying in from colorado to go... i know there is a 4 person max, i called his recruiter and asked if it would be ok and he said it shouldnt be a problem since many families cant attend. He has given out this info before and never had any problems or complaints.... what do you think...

proud2ba- I sent you an email with all the info for ordering ribbons to wear to PIR. There are also helpful tips for PIR. I will be happy to make ribbons for you and your family.
