mattsmom:  You may want to reconsider and stay until Sunday...just in case.  Sometimes their plans change and he will be still having liberty when you leave!  If you havent' already made your reservations, think about it---or are you driving there?  I know that fireteamleaderswife's son was in this situation.  She booked out on Sunday just in case...her son told her originally that he would leave the next day after PIR, but then plans changed and he had the weekend with them.  So it is worth it sometimes!  If your sailor leaves on Sat., you can sightsee for a day!

cakes:  SRs actually have a few days of SIQ/Light Duty after wisdom teeth. Usually doesn't affect their training/PIR date.

cakes-navysis, yes we plan on staying the thursday and friday night as I believe our son will leave for A school on the saturday. Haven't had any confirmation of that yet though. Looking forward to meeting everybody at Meet and Great/ PIR, but more so seeing my son!!!!!!

Ty MJ and cakes yes we reserved for thursday and friday usually they will leave sat for their next station unless they are staying in Great Lakes from what I can understand if you need to stay Sat and the hotel is not reserved you can always add it when you get there

For those of you going to PIR are you getting hotel rooms for Thursday and Friday night only? I believe that our SR will leave sometime Sat morning, right?

Also, how long do the SRs stay in Sick Quarters when they get wisdom teeth removed?

Question - do the divisions have to "earn" phone call time? Just wondering how some divisions call in week two and others week four - this is all new to me so wondering how things work!

Congratulations on the calls!

Happy to hear that there are letters and phone calls going out! Just under three weeks for my SR and am still not-so-patiently waiting. Is boot camp harder for the SR or for loved ones?

Love the new header for the N4M!

mattsmom - It's called a "collar device" and it signifies  his place in the chain of command.

This is one example of a collar device.

Here is a link to RTC WEbsite and the explanation of the RPO-Recruit Petty Officers.

You will find the Section Leaders under RPO1

Here is a graph of the RDCOC at BC - Recruit Divisional Chain of Command at Boot Camp.
