Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by Laura Fay on September 6, 2011 at 3:03pm: Past 45--thanks so much for walking me through with the picture change...I have been so spoiled over the years whenever I needed something like that done I simply call the kids in to do it. My oldest daughter got married in July, my youngest daughter moved out of state in June, and of course my baby just left for basic in August.....I feel like such a technotard sometimes!

Comment by diannep on September 6, 2011 at 1:14pm: Those who have stayed at Springhill Suites and Residence Inn in Waukegan have posted great things about them. We were at Residence. Loved it. Residence Inn has larger units for those traveling with a big group. 2 bdrm 2 bth (sleeper sofa too) and also studios...all with full kitchens. Pet friendly. Free buffet breakfast. PIR shuttles at both hotels.

At first she won, then someone realized the spelling mistake, pulled the win from her and then gave it back to her. If she was here I would be hugging and kissing her!! I can't wait to see DIV 948.

Comment by Lala Ribbon Queen PIR Ribbons on September 6, 2011 at 8:48am: Yeah, the driveway drives me crazy every time it rains but I keep digging the trench or have my 18 yr old son do it lol and I keep sticking away a little bit each week to get it fixed. I feel really bad for complaining about the rain after watching the news this morning and seeing all the fires in Texas and think of all those poor families who have lost their homes. I wish I could send them some of this rain they sure do need it.
