Wow, Lala. What a journey for your sailors! I sure hope that they can work something out. Nothing like life hitting you square in the face....right after your wedding! I'm so sorry....but hopeful that it will be a life lesson that they can share with others in the same position one day.
Yes, I knew that "Lee" was the deliverer of the rain. Sure hope it isn't as much as they think.
They are on their way back now. The insurance co is giving them a hard time saying they didn't have rental insurance. It doesn't help that their office is not open today. It cost them almost $400.00 to rent a car for one day. Party because they had to rent from an Airport on a holiday, they are both under 25 and also because the rental is one way to be returned in VA. I hope the Ins co will help them out tomorrow. I am not sure how they are going to get to work considering they work the same shift on different bases, each in the opposite direction of the other. I will just be glad to hear from them and know they made it home safely. I felt really bad for his mom when she heard they had been in a car accident she was shaking uncontrollably and wouldn't believe they were okay until she saw them herself. Poor thing, you can imagine how hard that would be for her.
And oh, the rain.... we are getting this from the storm that hit Gulf of Mexico. We are supposed to have steady hard rain and flooding through Thursday. We always get quite a bit of rain. Enough that our county is one of only 2 places in the continental US that is considered a rain forest. So we almost always have plenty. But when I bought this house 2 yrs ago the driveway was not properly graded and it needs about 5 grand to fix it right. So we have to keep a trench dug to help drain the water or else we get about 10 inches at our front steps. And as they say, life goes on lol.
Happy Labor Day everyone, I hope you all have a wonderful day off and I hope you are not in the path of all this rain. We are supposed to get around 10 inches and we spent the day yesterday working on the driveway hoping it doesn't wash into the front yard :-(
Maybe you all will get a couple of really good letters this week since they had 2 days of holiday routine :-)
Iam sure they will be just as beautiful :-) I told my daughter she should wear her dress white uniform and him the dress blues lol. She disagreed and I am glad she did.
The lockers that used to be there are no longer there. They closed down. Not sure exactly why but they are no longer in business. Sorry.
