I guess after all these years the RDC's no EXACTLY what to look for if they want to figure it out!

That is too funny LaLa.

That is exactly what this mom had posted from her sons letter, hence the IT!

My daughter's RDC told her "you must miss driving that red jeep" and she couldn't figure out what he was talking about. He didn't give her a hard time at all just made her wonder because she had not mentioned a jeep at all. She doesn't have a jeep either so she was really confused. Then she remembered she was driving her big brothers red jeep the day of her going away picnic. He had seen a pic on my N4M page of her sitting in the red jeep. Most times when they figure stuff like that out they don't make them do IT or give them a hard time about it. But they do seem to like messing with them lol. Now if your recruit says boot camp is fun or easy or not as bad as they expected I would expect it to get a little harder lol. After all it is not supposed to be easy. If you are the RDC from DIV 936 2010 you may remember who I am talking about. Thanks for teaching her so much, she is doing well, and she has always spoke very highly of you :-)

RDCs must have a way of telling who is who.
Comment by Sandy's_sailor son on August 26, 2011 at 1:38am
fireteamleader, maybe the mom mentioned something that her son's RDC said to him that he recognized. This happened a lot to recruits in my son's division. Although the RDC would just laugh at us moms most of the time.

Thank you proud2baNavymom, I am lost without him, but everyday is getting better.  I got his letter today!!! He is expected to graduate on the 14th. I've never been more happy to see his handwriting! :)

I am so excited about my sons graduation!!  Yahoo!  I can't wait to see his handsome face again!

proud2baMom:  That is why we tell you all to be very careful what you post here.  I still see ladies on some of the other PIR groups post almost entire letters received from their SRs, or enough that the RDCs can figure out who their SR is.  Since they can many times figure it out anyway (by your city/state), it really doesn't matter as long as you are posting very "generic" on the site...asking info, etc.  Just don't share much of what your SR tells you on here...except by private message.  Better to say things like:  I heard from my son and he is doing well, etc.  Don't get too specific.

welcome djrh my SR is engaged as well and his fiance seems a little lost without him.  I understand completely
Comment by JHnavy on August 25, 2011 at 6:29pm
Well I'm not a mom but my fiance left for BC on on 8/16 and arrived at GL on 8/17. I read all the post and they are so helpful!  I haven't received a letter yet, but I'm guessing this might be the right place to be. We received his box last week, but no letter :(  This process is so nerve wrecking...I'm excited for his graduation though! I can't wait to see him!!  Thank you all for all the advice. I certainly felt relieved after reading the posts.

Fire that would suck, I feel sorry for the kid and mom.  I hope my SR doesn't get IT for anything I have said.
