Julie welcome.  My SR also arrived on the 17th and I received his box today.  Have not cried yet but I am sure I will.  I am sure the form letter will be arriving this week sometime.  Dianne ty for adding the pic it looks great and I will not be changing it, I just had not had a chance to find one yet.

julie silva, you should be receiving your form letter about 10 days to 2 weeks after he left.  The box can come anytime after that.

I received the form letter with his address and graduation date and it is Oct. 14th.  My SR arrived at Great Lakes on the 15th.  Even though it was  a form letter, it was great to see his handwriting at the bottom. I will try to get a picture up. I made a special trip to the Post Office to mail a letter today.

Hope you all get yours soon!!!!

Thanks for the prayers for Hurricane Irene.  There is no panic down here yet, but lots are preparing.  We know "the drill."  Now that it may be a Cat 3...ugh...we will just keep praying this thing away!  If I disappear from this board by the end of the week, you can assume I have a storm in my backyard and no electricity!  :-)

Proud2ba:  I downloaded an icon pik for this group just to get rid of the silhouette pik.  PLEASE feel free to change it if you find another you want!  I don't want to overstep my bounds here!

I feel sure you all will be in DRESS BLUES for your PIR...and this is the "moment" when they have finished marching into the PIR hall.  They face the back wall....until given the order to "about face."  What a moment that is!

Wait!  I forgot a very important step!  You need to hit SAVE at the bottom of the page before it is done.  That is what tripped me up when I first got on the site.  So don't forget the SAVE at the bottom when done!
Comment by diannep on August 22, 2011 at 1:11pm
Anne:  Just go to your SETTINGS up in the top right corner of the page under your name.  You will then be on the PROFILE page and you will see the "silhouette" picture.  If you have a "saved" picture that you want to use, just click on BROWSE. That should take you into your stored picture files....when you see the picture you want, click "open".  Then you will have to wait for the thing to download.  When it finishes, you will see a prompt to hit "OK".  That should be it!  The picture should turn up then by your screen name.  It is easier than it sounds!

I'm terrible at things like getting a picture up here, too. Does anyone know if there's a how to' resource for that? Thanks!
