Thanks FTLW...No, My SR has told me nothing. He didn't get to call the other night when a few did and his only letter so far was short and didn't have much info. I was just going by what some of the others have said. I've posted a question on the 922 forum to see if any of them know what day we are on. However, your explanation makes sense. 6 weeks of training after P days then BS and practice for PIR. I don't need to know what specific day but it does help to know what week so I have at least some idea of what he is doing. Of course, Thursday is coming and that should bring mail with hopefully more info. This time he will have received our letters when he writes so he will know better the things we want to know.
THanks for all you do FTLW to help (try) to keep us sane through this.
TeacherMom - I'm right there with you!! LOL
At this point, all I know for sure is that I have a letter that says he will PIR on 4/13, I have 3 plane tickets purchased, a hotel and car reserved, and I'm counting the days off. So....they better be done is all I can say!!! LOL
My SR explained the weeks to me and told me what day they were on last Thursday, but I have MS and don't process the spoken word very well - I have to see it in writing or I get lost immediately :/ Anyway - he spoke to me briefly the day he had gone to the dentist (working on security clearance stuff), and he told me there was like 40 of them getting wisdom teeth out between the two divisions (117 and 118). He has already had his out, but he did need a filling. He sat in the chair waiting for the dentist for 45 minutes, and he said it was the best time he's had so far because he got to listen to music during that time. Rock music; Hendrix and the Doors he mentioned specifically. Like many of your SRs he's missing music. Considering this generation has Ipods glued to their heads most of the time it's no surprise! Ha ha. Heck - I listen to mine at work all day every day myself!
TeacherMom- 1-1 would have been on Feb 24th-- weekends don't count.. my boyfriend got there on Feb 15th (late)...so that would be about a week in P-Days (which i believe DO count towards the 8 weeks--correct me if I am wrong...)
That's why I'm confused. If this is week 3 and boot camp is 8 weeks, they can't finish in time to PIR on 4/13. They will just start week 7 on 4/10. Help FTLW. I'm so confused!!! It also means 1-1 was Feb 28th and he got there on Feb 14. Would they stay in P-Days for 2 full weeks? I'm not questioning anybody because I'm sure that is what the SR said, and they know better than we do, I just can't make the math work.
