mamabeans...I had not even thought of his car. What a fun idea. I wrote one from his laptop this afternoon. I used a unique font that looked like a computer might have written it. His laptop is looking forward to being back together with him for A school so he can help him become first in his class so they can go on lots of adventures together in the Navy.
Audra.... that would be fun! You could write it on Subway wrapping paper they use for sandwiches with a marker!!
Teachermom... you could have fun with all of those! Make it a competing letter on who misses him more!! Use different handwriting for each! So fun!!!
I think my next letter will be from his car.
Good to hear about PT test! My son is actually a runner and when he told me he didn't pass I nearly fell over. It was something none of us had been concerned about. He said he cramped about 1/2 way through because the stretching is not adequate. He thinks maybe they were in a hurry that day but stretching is really important. He says he is going to better prepare on his own the day of the test and help others prepare too if they are having problems. He is surprised there are not more injuries.
TeacherMom: Yep, Navy Fed deposits the money a day early which is nice.
What kind of challenge coin would I get for my son to give him at PIR?
Thanks diannep, I was wondering if they had any idea of the mounting tensions in Syria or Afghanistan. I was sending my SR some cartoons the other day and there was a hilarious political one, but it dawned on me that some current events happened after my SR left for BC and he may not see the humor.
I'll keep the negative world events to myself for now, and share with him the negative sports event that my beloved UNC-Chapel Hill was just beaten by Florida State for the ACC Championship. Bring on the NCAA Tournament!
The letter from the dog seriously made a sad and teary day end on a very funny note. Thank you so much. I wish we still had our dogs so they could write also. Maybe I should write a letter from his guitar, xbox, laptop, cellphone, and or ipod...Could be quite interesting.
@bdmama-I'm expecting his first deposit on the 14th. They get paid on the 1st and 15th, but he uses DD at the NFCU and they said the money would be there a day earlier than normal payday. I wasn't worried about the pictures because I assumed they know the guys won't have any money until their first paycheck clears.
In addition to what FTLW said about the final PFA, if they fail any part of it, they must take the entire PFA over again. This is usually not an issue for them because they usually have no problem passing the other parts...may just have a problem with one part. The swim portion only has to be passed once.
