Bob'sMom: This is a direct quote from my son when he was at bootcamp:

"Mom, we are cut off from everything going on in the outside world so let me know what is going on, ok?  You are my connection to the outside world!"

Now-- having said that, I will advise that you all only pass along "positive" and encouraging info.  They need no negative with all they are dealing with each day.  Sports scores are good, happenings in their community and with family, what's going on in their favorite tv shows, etc..just keep it positive!

That statement applies if they do not pass their last and final PFA, or the swim by the final PFA. The third and last PFA is usually on W6 D5.
All recruits take ALL three PFA's. Even if they pass the first or second...All recruits must pass the final PFA in order to go on and do BS with their division.

Mamabeans they mean the first official pfa test, the one they take before those are just benchmarks. No worries.

Does anyone know when their first paycheck will auto deposit? I transferred picture money yesterday to his account, and thought I'd just check to see if the auto deposit went through, and there isn't one yet. I know they have to buy all of their stuff at first, but I thought he'd at least get a little something. Just want to make sure his account is set up right, so iif something needs fixing, he can have It fixed. Thanks.

Q.
My recruit failed their fitness test (run) or swim qualification. When will he/she graduate or what is their status?
A.

While recruits are listed in this status, they are not scheduled to graduate. They will not get another phone call until their status changes, meaning: They have passed their test. If they pass before their graduation date, they will complete Battle Stations with whatever division is going through it next. If they pass their test after their original division has graduated, they will then go directly on to their A School. They will not participate in a graduation ceremony as their division would have already graduated and we do not wish to delay their A School training any further.

Ya, I have been chuckling all night long about the dogs letter.  Makes me giggle to even look at the dog and he looks back like "whatcha lookin at"?  I hope he shares it with others too.  I had a good laugh and entertained myself at least on a saturday night while hubby working.

I read on the mil.gov site that if they fail their first benchmark pt test that they will not have a phone call or even be part of the grad until they pass???  So they could get moved in grad or battlestations?  I thought they were supposed to call home if something like this happened and none of us have gotten a call.

Good Morning Ladies!!! May we all receive calls today.

Bob's mom, keeping the girlfriend, that is funny. My son's gr is a sweetheart too. She is coming with us and sharing a room for PIR. They have been together 3yrs. As long as they are good & happy with each other I am happy.

My son is a lucky young man to have chosen the girl he loves. If they break up, I'm keeping HER! I'm thrilled he called her first. She remembered every word. This old brain would have remembered a third of what he said.
Does anyone know if they have any access to what is going on in the world outside GL? I try to share local current events in my letters, but I'm wondering if I need to be sharing US and world events, as well.

Ok, so can relate to your letter, mamabeans...or should I say...my dogs can!  He will love this and I'm sure share it!
