We are considering getting him a laptop for his graduation gift (going onto Corpsman school right after).  Some questions:  If he doesn't have his own, is there a computer lab for sailors to use?  We can't decide whether to get the laptop here at home, and bring it, or can we possibly purchase one at the NEX for him?

Got a letter!  He 'finally' came down with the crud, just in time for the final run test, had a fever, and did not pass the run.  Altho, he said by the time he wrote the letter, he was feeling great.  So, hopefully, he'll pass they next time he gets to run.  He has passed all other physical tests with flying colors (his words)!  Asked that I bring him vitamins for after PIR.  lol

In my daughter's letter yesterday she asked for some makeup for PIR. When I send it should I write on the package the contents?

ML:  I agree.  I don't think it has to do with sterilization...I think it is way too may vaccinations at one time for them.  Temporarily lowers there immune systems and allows them to pick up all of the germs roaming around in such close quarters. Just my very non-professional (but health-conscious) opinion!  They don't get sick like this in A School....

My SR had the Crud and few weeks ago.  She was on LLD for a couple of days.  The Corpsman told her it was a "rite of passage" for recruits to have it.  It must be something to do with all the shots they get.  You would think that everything would be sterilized considering all the cleaning they have to do.  Go figure!

shermur,

The Boykin, like the Border Collie, is also a sporting dog.  They were bred to be water and field dogs.  Both our girls are excellent hunter retrievers.  I know your trepidation in leaving the dogs at home.  My 85 year old father is going to puppy sit while we are gone.  I don't know who's more excited about that weekend - him or me?
