Too bad Southwest doesn't fly out of anywhere near us.  We had to book Delta and they don't have a discount.  Oh well, at least we'll be there and seeing them in just 20 more days.  Just 2 more Fridays to wake up without being there and then the next Friday...PIR...HOOYAH

LaLa - Definitely need a music thing on my ribbons.  FINALLY found out SR is singing.  If it isn't too late, that is.

Rla:  Your post brought tears to my eyes...don't you wish the entire world would operate like that???  What a better world it would be!  What a wonderful uplifting letter!

spring:  Yep!  Amazing how during bootcamp, all that means so much to them, all we have done for them in their lives, all of the difficult times....it all makes sense to them...and many will express their appreciation/thanks to their families....it is truly a touching time!

Ria1164, they really are family and it does start in BC.  My son has been in a year now and he has "family" in Pensacola and has now found another great "family" in Washington state.  It makes me feel so much better knowing that they all look out for each other.

spring932, So sorry to hear that your SR is stressing about another recruit.  I know that it must be pretty difficult having so many personalities living, working and eating together.  Like you said, by the time she gets your advice, it maybe  be next week and by then she may have already worked it out on her own.  I used to try to also remind myself that by the time that I received my SR's letter, whatever challenge he may have had, may have already passed since it took 4 or 5 days for the letter to get to me.  I hope that's the case with your SR too.

good morning all...... I got a letter yesterday. My SR loved getting all the mail and pictures I have been sending. She is having a hard time with one of the other recruits though :( She was a little stressed (I could tell) but was trying to keep her head up and wanted some advice. I feel bad since the advice won't get to her until next week and by then this will probably all have blown over.

She did want me to post on her FB though "......quit taking things for granted...... appreciate everything you have...." Sounds like she is growing up :'(  makes me cry happy tears!

Good morning everyone! I wanted to share part of the letter I got yesterday. I shared it with our fb group so some of you may have seen this already. My daughters letter which was dated 11Mar12 arrived yesterday. It had a long journey. She said "Mom we are really starting to feel like a family here. The other day a girl got in trouble for having her drawer open. She had to do 3000 - 8 counts. So the whole division decided to do them with her to keep her motivated. She said it was the first time she realized she was part of something bigger than herself. Wow! Also, that evening for prayer a girl read a prayer her mom had sent. A prayer for a navy recruit and they all cried hysterically she said. One of the fb moms sent a prayer to her daughter. If she's a N4M I'm hoping she will post it here too.
