I totally agree with sjtina on the mail issue. I think you did a good thing, evanzmom. I bet, like sjtina said, the ones who received their daily mail already are on their bunks, not paying a bit of attention to those now getting mail.
evanzmom, do not worry yourself too much. I for one have not written my letter yet. I asked everyone to write to my son, whether he knew them or not. They just like getting mail and honestly after 2 months I was running out of things to write. The others do not know the letters are from us, they are too busy reading their own mail or wishing that their name gets called. I remember my son saying how bummed out he would be when they did not call his name, the others grab their mail and jump into their bunks to read. So I would think it is better to get too much than none at all.
TeacherMom.... all 4 of hers were impacted she said she was sedated and then SIQ for 3 days with LLD for 1. On her LLD day 4-1 she said she was fgoing to miss her 2nd PFA but that she could make it up, but didnt say anything about Marlinspike.
SR said that the shower time is used for their kareoke! He said "from the outside, there is no doubt that we sound like a Choir Of Angels" I could NOT stop laughing when he told me about this. He also said A LOT of disney songs have made it in, and each man plays an important role in the songs. Love to think that they are making fun out of a what would usually be an awkward and boring moment!
Ughhhh...NJ Navy Mom...it's too late. I've unleashed the hounds that are the Navy loved ones!! I so hope I haven't done the wrong thing for this young man. I did wake up this morning thinking that I may have brought unwanted attention to this SR. I feel awful. I'll have to write my son and tell him to ask the SR to forgive me. My intentions were good, but they say the road to H*** is paved with good intentions. :(
Thank you diannep and FTLW.... I was a little worried. She didn't seem concerned in her letter and even with being out for a week she is still RCPO so I have faith it will all be alright!
evanzmom - About the recruit not getting mail - pls check with your son first before you give the other boy's address out. My son had told me about someone in his div too and when I told him I was going to share the address, he asked me not to. Said it may be embarrassing for him to suddenly receive a ton of mail from virtual strangers so I just kept it to me, my daughter and one other mom. Just a thought.
You're welcome Proudmom :-)
Proudmom (04/119) our SRs are together. Where did you get the challenge coins? I would like to get some.
