Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

While a division’s graduation date will not change, an individual Recruit’s graduation date may change based on performance,

Asmo is done on an individual basis.

Sorry...didn't mean for you to take that as a "concern". So no worries okay? ;-) It's the first big time they have to do something like that together...and with them leading it. They find out they need to rely on each other...that's why I said "move forward". It usually encourages them to get it together and want to achieve more together. Most enjoy it like Rla said. Did you get to look at the discussion on it?

Comment by Teach on March 19, 2012 at 7:09pm: Mamabeans...Oh can I relate. My SR turned 19 last Saturday (10th). I think I cried as much that day as the days following his leaving. In fact, I'm crying now just thinking about it. The good news is, once we got past the actual date, I went back to my normal (?) bootcamp mom self.

I am reading about the Marlinspike for 118 and my daughter only mentioned that she really enjoyed it, not how they did. She is in 117. So, I wondered if they are not working together as well.
