A couple things to remember about where your recruit would like to get based. They will take a test soon after starting their classes in A-school. How they score on that test determines who gets to pick first of where they want to go. When it is time to pick they will have a list of places that are available for their rating. Whoever scored the highest out of their class get to pick first and then on down the line. If they really want to go to a specific place like say NAS Oceana VA and they scored the highest in the class. They can only go there if it is on the list. They place they want may not be available at the time they pick. I'm not sure what is on that first very important test but whatever it is they better study hard for it so they get to be one of the first few to pick. I have also heard (when my daughter was picking) that they can't go overseas for their first duty station if they have any debt or dependent's. I am not sure if that is true, maybe someone else on here does.

Hello!

Sorry I was MIA today! I had lots of chores to catch up on.

One of our sons invited two friends over…so I have six (counting hubby) “men” in the house. The testosterone levels are in the “red” zone!

I have stocked up on Pizza, Chips and Donettes…wonder what they will eat?!

We received 3 letters and a Questionnaire from my SR today ! HooYah ! She is in the half way mark of Navy Boot Camp with 4 weeks left. She loved the questionnaire and said send more.   So happy that I got more letters.  She is getting good at making her bed (little wrinkles) and ironing (Dang wish she would have done that at home) Her favorite things are marching, meeting new people and creating new friendships. Overall learning the military life and naval history are interesting. Passed her run test and swim test.  She has friends in Div 117 and 118.  She gave me names too.  She likes all the females in the two divisions (I believe they are housed together).  They are starting to come together... sisterly love !  They support each other a lot especially on missing home.

She has made her "dream sheet".  Her A School is only 2 weeks in Florida.
They had a weapons turnover inspection today.

glad to hear that some of y'all are getting letters still none down here, maybe she will decided to write soon, because the one letter I did receive is starting to wear thin from reading it so much...LOL... well I don't usually write a lot on here and I am on FB a lttle more, I would like to say to the senior members that this newbie member totally appreciates all the help you send our way, I may not write everyday but I read it every day... and it helps a lot to know somebody understands and cares what we newbies need at this time in our lives THANK YOU SO MUCH...

mamabeans oh, my son is hoping for Japan but he is going to A school for CTN. I have read they usually stay state side, I don't have the heart to tell him that though.
