Very glad to be able to share the good news - they are in good hands!
My daughter called last night - it was a piece of financial business I needed to handle for her, so I guess that's why it was allowed.
She also confirmed how important getting mail is for the SR's - it' what keeps them going! Just when I was asking her if they were informed about who won the Super Bowl, she said, "gotta go!" ... and click. Now we wait for letters, and to hear all about life at Boot Camp. Will be very interesting, I'm sure!
Hi Steph! How are you doing? I have actually heard from my daughter, and she said that the RDC's for Ship 12 Div. 098 are "awesome"! Isn't that great to hear?!
I actually got my letter on the very same day I got my box. I was surprised to get it so fast but after reading how so many are still waiting I am REALLY surprised. Anyway he is ship 4 div 809. I haven't seen any others in the same. I am very anxious to hear from him. I keep checking the airlines as well. They seem to be going up instead of down!! so I guess I better make the plunge and make arrangements. There will be 5 of us. More wanted to come (I have a huge family) but we decided just 5. Hopefully that 5th will be able to get in. Web are going up on Thursday and staying though Saturday. I hope to get to meet you. You will know us...we are from Texas and look like it! LOL
Will talk to you soon. Sancy
She is 19, 20 in two months. And yes we live in Redding. It's weird. One day I'm saying the saddness has passed and the next day I'm saying this is just way to long to have no contact. Today it's, everything is fine, just proud of my kid and counting down those days. I think eventually it will be like that everyday, then before we know it we will be at PIR and hugging them and beaming with pride.
Hi Steph! Nice to meet you. My daughter is 12/097. So far I haven't met anyone else who has a child the same. This is such an exciting and different thing than me or my daughter have ever experienced. She went to Mexico with Church for two weeks when she was 18, but other than that has always, always been with us. March 30th can't come soon enough!!!
My son left on January 12th. We are close then. I am still waiting for his form letter, the forum on the RTC site for his ship and division says that they received their form letters over a week ago. I do not have an address, PIR date confirmation, infor on who he listed for PIR, etc. I spoke with my son last twice in one day. He needed two more character references for his clearance. Isent the info to the e-mail address he gave me and they did not get it. He called his dad to find out if I had sent it because I did not answer my phone. I called the number that came with his call and spoke to the lady i had to e-mail the info to and she had received it by then. When I spoke with her she asked me if I would like to talk to my son, and of course I did. He sounded great, not stressed, and happy. It made feel so much better just hearing hsi voice and how calm he was. We spoke for about 10 minutes. He could not give his address or PIR date over the phone though. He also said his letter was going to be very short because he had a lot of studying to do for a test that was coming up. Keep in touch please, it is nice to have someone who is going through the same thing I am.
