OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

I'm a mother of four grown children, including Jacoby, my youngest son who is leaving for the Navy on April 2, 2013. I thought I could get some advice and help on this site...and eventually be able to help someone else after I go through it myself!

Hi, I would like to invite you to join Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones).  There will be a lot of good info for you there.  Your Username appears to contain your last name and if it does, you will want to make at least the first TWO changes at the bottom of OPSEC and PERSEC (Making Changes To Your Profile)Arrival and What Happens at the RTC will let you know what is happening. Once you know your SR’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms (and loved ones) and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date

Hello!  My son is leaving on Easter from another state: staying with grandma to help her out.  I won't see him till graduation.  I understand there are Meet and Greets on Thursday night before.  We should meet at one of those.  Will your "baby" end up in Pensacola, too?  My son will fuel airplanes on aircraft carriers.  It is a job he can do after the Navy.  He is so excited!

My son is leaving on Sunday, April 1st.  I also am dealing with empty nest syndrome.  Hopefully they will meet each other.  Once they are there, we can try to get them to connect to say "hi."

Welcome to NavyforMoms.com.  My name is Ronny and my son has been in the Navy since February of 2012.  He is currently stationed in San Diego with a Helicopter Squadron.  He is an Aviation Structural Mechanic.  I hope you find all the info you are looking for here, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.  My son is 3rd Generation Navy, so I do know a little about the Navy..:)

If you have a new Sailor who is in Boot Camp, or leaving soon, visit CallsforRecruits.org and I will send you FREE Pre-Paid Phone cards for your SR to use while they are in boot camp.  I started that program when my son left for Boot Camp :)
Welcome Aboard and I wish your Sailor Fair Winds and Following Seas.
