The Box

The doorbell rings and I see the Fed Ex man walking down the driveway to his van. I look down on the front porch and there it is....THE BOX!!!!! I know all it is are clothes that he wore but to just wrap my arms around that box and hug it as if it were him....priceless!! On the back of a tag of tube socks was a "love you" scribbled in his handwriting which made me break down....something so simple meant so much to me in that moment. I will cherish that box and it's contents for a long…

This the last night with my son. Wow that sounds really sad and I am. When he enlisted last April we were told he would not leave till December 21. With that info my husband and I booked a vacation for the early December. Well the worst thing happened in mid November...they changed his leave date to December 7th...smack dab in the middle of when we will be gone. I am not mad as I know the dates can change. I looked into changing our vacation date but with trying to change multiple things it…

Well Dec. 7th is coming up fast....that is when my son leaves for boot camp. Mixed emotions for sure but the number one emotion is pride...in him and for him. He was gone for a year in college but he came home almost every weekend so it was no big deal.Well this is a big deal and he won't be home almost every weekend so mama is a little freaked out. I know he will…

Hi and Welcome.

We are happy to have you on the Navy for Moms site.  You are invited to join either the Illinois or Missouri family page as listed below.  It is a great way to find families in your area and even help plan meet and greets. We also have some packing parties for our troops overseas getting together.

Looking forward to hearing from you in one of our groups!

Be sure and let me know if you have any questions!

PS.  Feel free to cruise my page and see if there are any other groups that interest you. One of my passions is supporting our deployed troops.  Check out http://www.navyformoms.com/group/mollysadoptasailorproject and see if it is a group you may like to join.

Carol (PPS-- I felt safer having our son in the Navy than his daily trips to St.Louis for college and work.)
