Theresa's Mom,

my son reported to the recruiter's office on the 27th, and was at boot camp by the 28th. I received his box yesterday and the form letter today (and am very grateful!)

Theresa's Mom,

I'm glad it's getting a little better for you.  Don't be surprised tho' when you see something that makes you think of her (or hear a song), and suddenly you're a bucket of tears again!!!  But that's ok - - that's what being a NavyMom is all about!!!!!  There are many hotels in and around Waukegan - from fancy a few blocks away, to older but still nicer ones right nearby.  Driving is not all that bad around here that I've experienced.  But I do remember waiting in a line to get into the base Friday morning for PIR.  I'd definitely find a hotel that offers a shuttle to GL.  We stayed at a Sleep Inn on RT 41 and they shuttled us to the main gate and back.  So worth it!!!  I'm sure you can get a rental car at the airport.  I've heard, although I have no experience flying into Chicago, but some Moms have said flying into Midway is easier than O'Hare.  When hubby and I flew over Christmas, we drove to Milwaukee and flew in and out of there!!!  Only about an hour's drive away but not crowded at all!!!  Let me know if I can help you with any info.

Theresa's Mom,

I see you joined the Moms of Daughters 2 group and I want to welcome you!!!  We are a friendly, caring group of moms always willing to listen and support.  Please feel free to jump in and join our chats!!  We like to discuss everything from our sailors to our jobs, weather, whatever.  It's also a great place if you want to yell, scream, vent, cry - - there is no judgment involved!!!  Brag about your sailor but also tell us when you are hurting because you miss her so!!!  I used to live in CA and visited in Modesto many years ago!!  Right now I'm living in Waukegan just a few blocks from Great Lakes!!  Looking forward to getting to know you and your sailor!!  Again, Welcome Aboard!!!!
