I've been reading some info on "groups" on this website trying to learn more about what my son is doing. He was told to bring his cell phone and that he will be able to make a weekly phone call with his own phone, but now I'm reading that it will be sent home with his belongings and that he should have a phone card with him. Very confused. Can someone clarify this for me. Thanks

My son left for boot camp on the 15th. Got my 10 second phone call Thursday evening. Drives me crazy that I can't just pick up the phone to call or text him. Everyone says I should be proud, which I am, but I'm also a mother who worries and loves her baby boy. I can't wait for October to get here so I can see him again!

My son left August 15 for the Navy...miss him with all my heart. But I am counting down the days until I am able to see him again for his graduation. Although very worried every minute of the day I know he is a smart and strong boy. When I said my goodbyes that day I just could not let go of my boy because I knew that the next time I would be hugging him again he would be a man. I wish him and the rest of the recruits out there good luck! We are all proud of you!
