Calling Home

Does anyone know if we can send our boys a calling card? Matt didn't leave with one and our phone service doesn't take collect calls? Can he buy one there? If anyone knows please let me know. Did your boys call collect or did they have a calling card? Just hearing his voice would be so great! Until then I will keep reading his letter:) Thanks to all the moms that have been so much help. Can't wait to meet all of you. God Bless!

My son left for boot camp in Monday

Well, I drove him to the recruiters office. I didn't even cry. I'm so proud of him. I did tear up when he was hugging his little brothers. When he was able to make his first call, he called his grandparents ( he knew the I would not hear the phone) I can't wait to hear his voice in 3 weeks. I miss him so much.

missed phone calls......

We think. We may have missed our daughters phone call yesterday. Any other moms ship 3 div 17 get any calls? We were wondering if the caller ID shows unavailable or if it show an area code? We received a call that showed ( unavailable N). Not sure what the N stood for but we automatically assumed it was her. Very depreessed if that is the case.

Contact Lenses in BC

Hi All,

My son is leaving for BC on Nov 16th and I would like some clarification on something. I am aware that he will be issued BCG's in BC but I read somewhere that he can bring one pair of contacts and a small amount of solution with him for PIR. Now I am also hearing that if he brings them to BC it will only be returned in the box and that he will have to wear the BCG's for PIR. Should he even bother bringing them?

Waiting for Battlestations phone call

I still have not heard from my son about the final test before graduation---and graduation is in 2 days! Do they wait until the final night to do Battlestations 21?

The waiting continues.....

Week 3! Maybe this week we will receive a letter....boy I hope so. Her dad and I write her everyother day. Just to keep her updated on the family and home...but I'm so anxious to hear from her! Sometimes time is not our friend.

How long should we wait for orders???

I'm sooo upset, my husband and I have been separated for 4 and a half months...which wouldn't be so bad if we didn't have a 5 month old baby at home. He went to basic then straight to BESS in Groton, CT. He graduated BESS Oct. 8th and we are still waiting for orders. They are telling us that it could be due to the fact that this is the end of the Navy's fiscal year so they don't have money to move us at this time.

The dilemma: My husband wants us to pack up the car and move…

Phone Call

I was hoping to get a phone call last Sunday. I didn't. I am so looking forward to that first call. I am afraid it will be both of us crying though. I am hoping that it will be soon.

Storage lockers?

My daughter is getting ready to graduate boot camp and is suppose to do her A school in Great Lakes also. After Liberty Weekend she goes back to her boot camp ship for 2 days before she goes to her A school. I was hoping to be able to bring her a few things that she is not allowed to have at boot camp, but is allowed to have at A school. She has mentioned that she heard of 'lockers' that people can rent nearby. Does anyone have any information on this?

Orders are in! QUESTIONS ABOUT NAS LEMOORE! <3

Hey N4M!

My husband is currently in A-School in Florida and I am living in California. Last week we got our orders to Lemoore CA. I am really happy that we get to live in CA because we are both from here. BUT I am nervous about moving to Lemoore because I heard it is a really bad area. Is there anyone who is stationed in Lemoore or has been Stationed there that knows about the town. We haven't found an apartment but he comes home this week and we will start looking while he…

My heart is breaking

I received my first letter from my son today, and it wasn't a very good one. He is having a rough time. He can't believe that he is missing us so much. He says he thought he was ready to leave and that he would be okay. But he says he has had some breaking down moments. What is a mother to do? My heart is breaking and all I do is cry.
