What do the future sailors do from three weeks to end of bootcamp? I'd like to be able to picture in my head what he's doing during this time.

Trying to find out after my son graduates - can he leave the base for the weekend or does he have to check back in to the base at night? I know he has to stay within a 50 mile radius. Where do the rest of the family members not atttending graduation hang out? Can they even come on base?

My son is a new sailor. He was so excited to join the Navy and "see the world". Unfortunately his ship is not going anywhere for several years as it's being renovated. I feel so bad for him. He is very frustrated and feels like there's nothing he can do. He was also undesignated airman - (all that was available at the time he signed up). He really wants to be a corpman but can't change for some reason. I feel like he has lost his excitement. I wish there was something he could do.

Finally after 7 months, boot camp. PIR, A school, halfway through C school I get to see him. He hasn't been here to support me through any of it and I haven't been there to support him. Things haven't been good between us, he doesn't call or skype or anything like he should. I'll admit that I held on for a long time and was an awfully good sailors girl waiting for him to get his shit together and man up. I almost feel like I have fallen out of love with him. We aren't engaged so I'm…

Merry Christmas and soon to be a Happy New Year!
Soon my son will be graduating from boot camp. His letters and phone calls have put my heart at ease (as much as it can be.) They are funny he talking about some of his roomies and wanted to see if I could connect with anyone from his division. And if anyone will be going to the Meet and Greet the night before at the Sundance Saloon put on by "Sarge" whoever he is. My son said he swears one guy next to him gets the same jokes I send…

I didn't realize how much I would love my daughter's dirty clothes until now lol. Just to smell her scent on her jacket brought tear's to my eye's. Then having her mail coming shortly after did it for me, Heavenly Father I just ask that you to cover each and every one of these sailor's from sun up to sun down and keep them safe Lord. I'm still suffering from seperation anxiety but i'm sure i'll make it through for this is all new too me..

First Baptist Church hosts sailors who can't be home every Christmas...they get as many sailors as possible. They've had 500 before. So ladies with guys at Great Lakes for Christmas, they may get the opportunity to enjoy a home cooked meal and a nice family atmosphere. The families who give their Christmas to these men and volunteer bring their cell phones and let sailors use it as much as they would like. I love this church. Some of the families have sailors of their own and understand what…

Hello Navy Moms, I am also new to this. My son left on Dec. 13 and I didn't recieve his "box". His father did and he says that it did not contain his mailing address on it. My letters, to him, are pilling up. So could someone please help me find him, so that his sisters and I can send to him our love. Thank you, Joleen

Hello - first time here and not a usual blogger so please forgive if this is the wrong place.
I would love to get your thoughts and recommendations on the most cost efficient place to stay. I'm not looking for the cheepest hotel, but rather taking into account shuttles, taxis, car rentals - what makes the most sense? For example, the Navy Lodge doesn't provide shuttle service and the breakfast is very light - no restaurants on site or close enough to walk too. The Residence Inn does…
