Hi All- my daughter got to great lakes on 3/7 and she was one of 4 girls to ship that night. Upon the advice of some I joined the 5/3 PIR group- They have received their letters and are now receiving phone calls- I haven't received anyting but her box...Is it possible they put her on hold and put her into a division that arrived the following week? I'm getting depressed- and worried and I hate not knowing anything.... Thanks!

We have reached another stepping stone in our Navy life. My son graduated Navy Nuke A School on Friday 3/15/13. I am sooo very proud of him. He graduated with only 13 other Sailors. It is hard to believe that it has been 8.5 months since he left for boot camp. He has grown an extreme amount in many ways. But to be honest, our entire family has changed as well.…

I got a call from my fiance yesterday saying he had heard orders were getting changed to Korea and areas around there. He didnt know why or what all was happening and no one else seemed to know either. Does anyone know what could be going on and how big of a chance there is that his orders will get changed from states to somewhere over there?

I'm positively sure I am not the only one to feel the way I have been feeling this past week. When my son Adam was graduating high school he wasn't sure what he wanted to do. Every now and then he would mention the Navy and I would discuss the possibility with him, but he never really committed. We discussed college and he decided that the community college would be a good place for him to start. Signed up, took all of the tests and a week before it was to start he said he didn't want to…

I just got my letter from my SR. I was surprised at his graduation date - it's a week ealier that I would have thought.
That's ok - one week sooner to see my son.

Does anyone know the history of the huge old anchor in front of a railroad bridge in Camp John Paul Jones. The railroad seperates Camp John Paul Jones and Camp Porter. My son is at RTC and they run by it, but he doesn't get to stop and see what it says. He said he's ask some of the RDCs and their answer is "an old ship". HAHA My son is a history buff, and I am too. He has always enjoyed studying nautical history, so he probably would know about the sihp, whatever it was. Any help is…

Hi All- not doing so hot today- I got my last I love you text at 1030p and the I'm hear call at 1233a this morning. So since she arrived on a Thursday- will they rush her P-days- and put her in a division formed earlier this week, or hold her til next week? Her main complaint was she couldn't get her ear to pop and it was bothering her- at least her cold seemed to have decided to end-her voice sounded so good when I got to talk to her while waiting in O'Hare. So now I wait- and the no…
