My son arrived at Great Lakes Oct 2 for his bc. I still as of today have not received "the box", the form letter, or a letter from him. I am a new member, I have not seen anyone as of yet who has a loved one in my sons division. I just got my first phone call 20 days after he shipped!! As you can imagine, made my entire week! my daughter is in A School in Fort Lee VA, she was on hold for one week and started school on October 1st. She told me that she might come home on October 26th. Is A school 5\6 weeks?

I was hoping she would come home a week before Thanksgiving and have the two weeks off. Also, I heard that it depends on if they need her right after A school she might not be able to come home.

I have been reading blogs for the last 3 weeks but not a member. I couldn't stand it anymore! My son is also on

ship 02 division 901. It is nice to hear from others who have loved ones in the same division. It makes me feel a little better but still no letter. 

I just have tons of mixed feelings about all this.  I am signing my daughter's contract today after work as she is just 17.  She says this is what she really wants to do.  She is motivated by the education she can get.  Cannot afford the cost of college and the scholarships aren't enough.  I will be the emptynester I guess.  Anyone feel free to comment back.

Tyler sent me two letters and his sister a letter, I'm so excited maybe I will sleep or maybe not... but, he sounded great I am so proud of him!!

My stepson left for boot camp on October 2. I was a little sad but mostly excited for him and proud. I think he was ready and I feel the Navy is a good place for him.

Just got his address today-- he is in Ship -03-Div-021. It would be cool to talk to Moms that have children in boot camp and would be awesome if someone else here has a child in the same division. I am not sure my stepson will write but I hope he will. 

My son Chase leaves for Bootcamp on October 25th 2012 and I was wondering if anybody else's child leaves on that day.  He was scheduled to leave on October 30th 2012 but was moved up.  As the days get closer it becomes harder to know that soon I wont be able to see him for awhile.  I am so proud of his decision to join the Navy but can't help feeling that I don't want to let him go.

My son, Rane, leaves for RTC two weeks from today.  Today, I wrote his first letter. He said, Mom, I haven't even left yet!!

I think my son needs a photo ID for PIR I didnt know this until Friday that he could not use his SS card... I dont know what to do its to late to get one now... HELP

My son has been gone 3 weeks on Wed. and I have not heard one word from him! He is  Ship 02 Div 901 if you have a someone that is the same as him have you gotten a letter yet???

my sailor got to call me Sat. He is in Ship 11 Div  363 and graduates Nov. 9th. It felt really good to talk to him. He is doing really good and said boot-camp isn't all that bad. 

Just got my first letter this weekend but no phone call other than the "I'm here and safe" call. My daughter's letter sounds like she is doing ok, but I want a phone call. She is in Division 003, ship 09.

On July 31, I knew that September 28 was a lifetime away. That first week with Justin gone to Great Lakes was a nightmare of no information from him, strange medical emergencies here at home, and the most unimaginable fear of unknown boot camp dread. I hope someday to be a support for those enduring that, because...wow.
