My son called me today at work with his good news--he is feeling better and they gonna put him another division so he can finish out his last two weeks of boot camp!!! God answered my prayers!!
I was so thrilled to hear from him after worrying the last week. He said it is so good to be back moving around. He is still on light duty thru the weekend, but they should move him to another division Monday. YEAH!!! He said he wasnt sure he would get back on his feet so quick--but he…

Its been a week since I got that phone call late at night saying my son was sick and taken out of his division. And yet I havent had a call since then to let me know how he is doing. The frustration of not knowing is driving me crazy. "No news is good news" ---yeah right. I just want to know how is really doing, but what can I do but sit and wait for the promised phone call that he is suppose to get once a week until his able to rejoin BC. So I wait.........
The good news is…

My son has been real sick since last Thursday. I have only gotten 1 quick phone call to let me know that he was taken out of his division because he is so sick. It was a "rehearsed" military paragraph that was not appealing to any mother, but yet understood of the requirements. I was told that I would get one phone call a week until he is able to rejoin another division to finish his BC. It has been very hard to wonder what is going on with him and not to be able to talk with him while he is…

I am clumsy and prone to accidents, even as an adult. I have fallen in perfeclty level parking lots, ran into solid walls, unexplainably ended up with severe ligament/tendon/bone damage, even broken ribs due to caughing. Recently, I tripped over thin air while holding my baby girl. Thankfully, her head never hit the floor, but I looked like I had been beat with a bat for a while. Obviously I have a problem with coordination and balance. Well, actually the balance part overflows into other…

Hello everyone. It's been a while since I've been on here or said anything. Well we're staying strong and things are going pretty well. I'm a junior in college now, about to change my major again. And my sailor passed his one year mark in being in the Navy just as our 3 and 1/2 years passed as well. He's ready for 2015 which is when he's out of the Navy.lol. It has it's ups and downs but he and I get…

Well~I'm new to this site, and it has already been so helpful!! Alot of my questions have been answered....and the feeling of "no one understands what I'm going through" is fading....many wonderful people are out there..and have husbands, wifes, sons, daughters, brothers & sisters that are on their way to being or already are US Navy Sailors.
My husband & I have been married just over 8 years, but have been together for 13 1/2 years. This is the absolute longest time we have…

To my soldier.. my daughter... my red headded step child.
You are not told enough to buy a beer, but you are old enough to enlist.
You are not old enough to rent a car, but you are old enough to carry a weapon.
You are hardly old enough to see a violent Rated R movie, but you are old enough to see war.
You are just old enough to vote, but you are old enough to die.
I am blessed to live in this country.. AMERICA.. land of Free and home of the…

My husband wrote this to me from work. It made me cry...
___ sent me a story about the author who wrote Flag of our Fathers. He spoke to a group of kids at the Iwo Jima memorial and told the story of each of the flag raisers. Here is what I sent back to her.
I've read the book and it is emotional and a honor of those who were there. I've been to the memorial with a group of WW2 vets on a honor flight. The vet that I was a guardian for was a Marine at…

Well, today is the big day for Matt! He is leaving Great Lakes, what has been his home for the past 8 weeks, and headed to Charleston for A School! He can hardly wait and neither can I. Being that Charleston is only a short 4 1/2 drive away, we will be taking his personal and necessary belongings to him this weekend! I can't decide if he's more excited about getting his cell phone or magic stuff. He is a self-taught magician! At the end of bootcamp he was able to display some of his talent…
