Today has been the worst day so far. My son left a message on our answering machine asking someone to please pick up. My heart is broken. We were at his younger sisters basketball game. I hated basketball before today but this just makes it worse. I miss my child so much and I wasn't home when he called. Please tell me that this will get easier!

My son isn't due to leave until June. We are treasuring all our holidays, birthdays, and crazy moments. This Thanksgiving the extended family met at a restaurant. A lady came up to my son and told him she had noticed him because he looked like her son. Her son is a marine and is currently deployed. She gave him a hug as she left. After that I got a bit teary watching him with the cousins. Then my sister said that him leaving is just like sending a kid to college. I have sent a kid to college…

I have so much to be thankful for. My son called me before 6 am this morning  EXCITED.... to let me know that he passed his final test before he graduated from school today!!!!  After lunch I got another call to tell me he had Graduated. About an hour or so later. He called me to tell me "He loved me and thank you momma" I was a little teary eyed......but still thankful!

I am not sure if I am going to make it or not...   My son leaves for boot camp in two weeks (Dec.6th) I can stand the thought of not having him home over the holiday's. Also, I am scheduled to work on his ship out date, anyone have any advise on this. I am thinking I should spend the day before with him (Dec. 5th) say my good bye's then. Driving into Nashville today to pick my youngest sailor up at the airport.  He'll have approx 2 weeks with us before going on deployment.  Im very sad that he wont be with us at Christmas.  My other sailor won't be able to come home until Dec 28th.  Wish I could have them both here at the same time.  Im afraid that won't happen for a long time.  But that's Navy life.  I'm very thankful to at least have them home even if it's at different times.

I just received the last call i will get from my new sailor  for the next few weeks. At 11:05pm CST. She advised the box with her belongings we will be receiving in approximately 2-3 weeks. I am excited for her.

We are very excited , but nervous for our Navy Recruit. We are focused on graduation day. I would love to hear some tipos and tricks to coping and  helping my sailor be the best  she can be in this experience.

I have been carrying my phone on me for 3 weeks now waiting for the call!  I got it yesterday only to say my son has been in medical separation for the last week or so.  He passed his hearing test at MEPS but now that he is in Great Lakes he did not? We live in far South Texas and the climate and altitude are a lot different...Don't know if that has anything to do with it or not but am wondering at what lengths do they go to try to work this out with him so that he can continue on?  Anyone…

Well the holidays are all about K this year.  She has already put up our XMAS tree (I don't think I've EVER put it up before December 15 and that was early).  She themed it "Navy" which means white lights, all blue ornaments and gold garland.  She has even decreed that all presents that are placed under it have to be wrapped in gold!  What a trip.

I signed up on this website because my daughter is married to a sailor.  They were married when he graduated from boot camp and she is pregnant with his child.  He is attending A school and she was all set to join him.  After many delays, he just told her that he did not want her to join him, that he was too young to be a husband and father and they were done.  Naturally, she is heartbroken.  I don't know what to do for her and I don't know what her rights are.  He is getting extra pay…

I check my email and face book page multiple times a day. I feel disappointment when there is no activity, but it makes my day when someone has posted. I look forward to whatever someone has wrote no matter what the subject is. Anything makes me feel that much closer to my SR! Well Dec. 7th is coming up fast....that is when my son leaves for boot camp. Mixed emotions for sure but the number one emotion is pride...in him and for him. His whole new life is in front of him and I am excited for him but at the same time I am sad because he will be gone...for good. Well my son has passed his EMT classes and now on to picking orders and he got Surgery Tech School.  He is bummed now he could of been in Naples but maybe next time.  He is a bit upset but no words can fix it.

I miss the kid so much.  Both of my sons.  My daughter says no holiday celebrations in the house anymore since the boys are gone... boy she better learn fast.  I will light my blue candles for Timothy and still they will be here in my heart and head and the celebrations…
