Hi ladies,
I just checked and we are going to Kuwait. It's a medical clinic. The staff numbers 30, with 20 male and 10 female. They want the packages mailed between 10-24 and 10-30.
Check out Molly's page for details.

double checking on this mailing:

Marlo has 8 generic ones
Lyn has 10: 1 female, 9 generic
Sue has 12: 9 female, 3 generic

And we are mailing on the 24th which is Saturday. Actually, I'd like to mail on Friday the 23rd. Does that work for you ladies?

here are my special ones that I made for Kuwait. i love that chili pepper fabric. It doesn't show, but the bottom of the chili peppers is hot pink with white stars.
Sue, you come up with some WILD fabric. How fun!!!!!! They will love them.
I bought that Tweety fabric last November at Hancocks for a special order for my craft busniess. did you notice that they are different. the white with tiny purple dots came from a thrift store.

The chili pepper fabric I bought from a woman who used to sell at craft fairs. She got out of that business and sold out her fabric for $1.00 per yard this summer. She was a contact from my Curves owner. I saw that and loved it, casue I am in the SW. It's probably 15 or more years old. Some of her fabric, like the apple pie prints were date 1993.
I mailed my packages today - a total of 35 lbs. I knew if I didn't mail today it would be late next week - honestly I had to put the box in the mail so that I would quit adding to it. LOL
I sure hope you used the flat rate boxes!!!! they are a wonderful thing.

did you mail any pillowcases? Marlo mailed 8 and I was mailing 22. Which I am working on now. But I thought I should ask.
well, my batch are packed up but I had to do it twice. When I was prinitng out my letter, I remembered the notecards. So printed those off. I very carefully lifted out the pillowcases, cause I have them layered "just so" don't you know-haha. I wrote who made each one and inserted the note in the pillowcase, I think those are going to work out just fine-ESPECIALLY if I remember before they are in the box. haha.

I'll post some pictures tomorrow.
gto Kuwait mailed to day. But I forgot the HAE label, the Molly label and clear tape across the address. So handwrote the 2 names and asked the grumpy PO worker to put some clear tape across the address. I was sorry to get this guy casue he's given me a hard time before.

You could not believe him! he moved like a snail and put 2 pieces of scotch tape across the address-not even the name! It would've been faster to take a big piece on the roll and put it on. I wanted to scream-hurry up. but then decided to "be ye kind". So I thanked him for the tape and moved along. Now I am praying the box gets there okay, cause I dont hve my flaps double taped.
Sue, you are going to have to learn to keep one of those HUGE tape rolls in your car along with labels. Easy for me to say since I don't do it. Usually I have so much tape on a box that I figure it will drive the recipient crazy trying to open it.

Here's the Kuwait box.

Dori, that's a good idea. normally, I do have alot of tape. I put clear across the address part, but I put the custom form on top and just spaced that off.
The first packages have arrived in Kuwait! I spotted pillowcases in one of the boxes... I have posted lots of the pictures in the Molly's page. I am posting the note I received and a couple of 'pillowcase' pictures here also! Thanks so much for sending that special mom love along with pillowcases! You gals rock!

Hi Susan...yes we did receive the packages. The crew had a great time opening them. I have some pictures....unfortunately I did not get pictures of everyone because I ran out of battery.

The crew is crazy...so don't be surprised with what you see. The packages came from so many places. It was great to read out who and where they were from. They were saying thank you out loud for every package.

I am really grateful and my crew is also grateful to everyone of your volunteers...this made a bad day, believe me it could not of been worse than what it was yesterday, if you know what I mean, when we received a few more packages. Yesterday was a very hard day for all of us emotionally, but receiving the thank you letters and special thank you pictures. They were really nice and are posted on all the clinic cork boards.

Susan, please forward this email and pics to the moms that sent the packages. I wish I knew all their emails, but I know you know how to get it to them.

Thank you again and God Bless all of you.
