My son left on the 23rd. hope their all doing ok.
Aww I will keep all of you in my prayers. I remember that 30 second phone call & the package, the first phone call maybe a little rough because they may be at the stage of "what did I get myself into?". Then their call near the end will be more up lifting because, it's almost over. Oh and Graduation! Momma's take plenty of tissue because I wanna say it's probably gonna be one of the proudest moments that you are going to experience. My daughter graduated boot campon 9/25/09 (her dad's & my 16th wedding anniversary....2 blessings in one day!) She is now on deployment on the other side of the glob on the USS Nassau. It's hard being a military mom because we spen all those years keeping them safe & now they're keeping the U.S. safe. Congrats moms on a job well done inraising such fine children!
My son Michael is the first in our family to join the Navy. He went in in Feb to Great Lakes. He is graduating Apr. 9, CAN'T WAIT TO SEE HIM! Bless your heart and please thank your sons for all that they are doing.
Here's the link to your son's PIR group...just point and click on the link http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir492010
Hi my name is Susan. My only son arrived at Great Lakes March 17, 2010. I haven't heard anything from him I thought they could call home on Sundays. Can u please let me know when they can call home i'm going crazy not knowing anything, I know he's fine but I miss him so much I can't stop crying.
I'm new to this even computers so i hope im doing this right.
my son left three weeks ago tomorrow on March 10, do you know when they can make phone calla home?
My son, our only child, left on the 15th of March and the only contact I have had is his box o stuff. Not even the form letter. One mother wrote me that the first call she received from her son was when she was already in Great Lakes for his PIR. It is hard not hearing from our children but try to stay strong. I keep a daily log that I print out every few days and mail to him. I add news of home and the world and always add a joke of the day. It's almost like talking with him. I also find taking a few minutes to light a candle while thinking positive thoughts and sending him my love brings me some peace. I now it sounds corny but try to think positive. Instead of thinking it's been weeks without a call or a letter I try to think already a few weeks down until I get to see him again.
My son graduated BC alittle over a year ago and I never got a phone call till his last 3 weeks, not saying everybody wont hear from there son/daughter, I guess every division can be different. The most important thing to remember while they are in BC is "No News is Good News". Hang in there, it will end soon enough. And good luck to all.
Does anyone have someone in Ship 6 Division 927 with a PIR either may 14 or May 21
