We will still do some other small groups this month.

1.    45 soldiers in Haiti.  Matt's mom and I did them.

2.    10 soldiers in the sanbox.  The contact is from Tucson.

3.     Marines from Molly's group.  Lyn was handling the count and knew in order for them all to get      a pc more help was needed.  196 total from HAE crew,  115 after Lyn asked for help.

4.     Dawn in Afghanistan has a new address and location. Need 200.

I am working with a couple of Tucson units.  I'll keep you posted on those possibilities.

Cheryl, If you can make the 10 that would be great. If you contact me, I can give you the address for mailing on Monday. I can't put the address on the list but if you have access to MAS sight, the address is there.
Lyn - I see the address on the MAS site and will get 10 pcs in the mail on Monday. I'll confirm when they are sent so we have the count.
where are you now in your count Lyn?
These are the 10 that I just mailed to the Marines.

Big Thanks to everyone that helped with the Marines. We made it to 290, so everyone will get a pillowcase. Thanks again.
Kim I like your pillowcases especially the one up front with the flag raising at Iwo Jima. Great job!
beautiful job Kim! I have that same Marine fabric and may try to get one made by Monday. I'll see how it goes tomorrow afternoon.
Got an email from Dawn this morning. I know we've been collecting for the Ft Hood unit, but they haven't come thru as yet. So now we know of troops that have needs NOW and a contact who gets the items to them. We have gotten alot of thank you notes from her soldiers. She called me Aunt Sue! What an honor.

Hi Uncle Joe & Aunt Sue,

Joe, I hope you and Monika enjoyed your vacation. I am all settled into my new place in Kabul. I am at a small forward operating base and we don't have any of the luxuries of being at a large base like Bagram where I came from. In fact, there is no place here to buy toothpaste and other toletries. If the AAF has anything on the shelf to unload, there are a lot of Amry guys here that could really use that kind of stuff. Sue - same goes with pillowcases if you have any you'd like me to get out. I hope you both are doing well and as always we appreciate all your love and support!

Hi Dawn,

glad to hear from you! How many are there? Any females? I can mail some this week. Give me some numbers.

Hi Sue,

I would say there is a contigent of about 100-200 US Army infantry. Their job is to train the Afghan National Army soldiers co-located with us.

I am one of 4 women in my section and outside of that, I have seen only a handful of female soldiers on this camp in the week I've been here. I do travel the entire country though and I like to give them out when I visit other FOBs.

Have you gotten a lot of feedback from people who received them at Bagram Air Base?

And the answer to her question is a resounding yes!

so what do you think? I'd like to do 200. I'd say we could send 10 females for now. I have plenty and would love to send some! I have 2 boxes about 70 of them. Is there a mom who would like to coordinate this count for me? If not, I'll do it and I do have her new address.

She didn't mention baked goods, but I bet she would like them anyway. I will email Joe and see if he has a group that is going to take care of the toiliteries, so for now let's get a count for pcs.

Sue, When are you planning on mailing to Dawn? I'm leaving on Wednesday evening and will be back on the 4th of May. I have about 100 shampoo and creme rinse bottle from the Sheraton Hotel, if you think they might want them .I also have all those bars of soap. Let me know what you want me to do. I also have a lot of female pcs, since I haven't sent any of those out in months.
Lyn, you can start to mail any time. In fact, I will mail a box tomorrow when I mail the marines. Let's all mail 2 or 3 females, as I have a bunch too and she wasn't sure. I"m like you, I think some of mine could be either or.

Send how ever many toileteries that will fit. so say 20 pcs, then fill with your toileteris. that's what I'll do.

She mentioned 1-200, so we'll get some sent. Thanks. Is this the trip with the artwork? Are you flying and checking it in? or driving?
I'll mail on Wed, before I fly out to San Antonio. Yes, this is the auction trip. The auction is next Sunday.
Sue, could you send me Dawn's new address?
Maryellen, I have 20 pcs, 30 shampoos and 20 soaps. There are 3 definite females and 2 that could work for either. The rest are males.I will need the address before Tuesday, that is the earliest I can mail the box.
