I like the creativity with the strip of fabric between the bands and body of the pcs. I guess you are using fabric as the strips?
Yes I do use fabric for the strips. I just like the way they turn out.
These are some of my 35 pcs that I mailed to Dawn.

beautiful. your photos are so clear! I love that saguaro fabric.
Matt's Mom, I love the horse one. They all look very nice.
Hi ladies,
I wrote to Dawn yesterday and told her who was mailing what. here's what she wrote back:

Wow Sue! You ladies are amazing! I plan to take tons of pictures. I can't wait for you to see them so you can see the sweet smiling faces after receiving a little warmth from home. All because of you! :D

Dawn

thanks for being on my crew! You help to make it happen!
Sue, Thanks for sharing. :)
These are the 10 I sent to Dawn last week.

Some are duplicates but that is all the stash I had that wasn't Navy or Air Force.
We got this today from the Marine unit:

Heads at Ease,

Please thank Pat for the pillowcase. I received it today and will use it. I gave it to fellow docs, corpsmen and chief's here at the Flight Line Aid Station at Bastion Airfield. Thank you for supporting our troops!

Good morning ladies, I received this email and picture this morning and wanted to share:

Hello Dawn,

Let me start by saying thank you very much for the pillow case. When I saw
it, the first thing that came to my mind was my son, D'Andre. He's 7 years
old and is so excited to be involved in new sports. He likes baseball,
football, basketball and soccer. So, although I am missing him so very much,
when I lay my head on the pillow, I think of him playing his sports,
laughing with his teammates, and not being worried about my safety. I
imagine him running, jumping, falling down but being happy. So, I'm not
quite sure how to express my feelings about your pillow case, but it has
brought a sense of ease and happiness beyond the plain cammie decorated
pillow case I brought with me.
Thanks for all your support of the troops from a very happy father and
Seabee.

What a wonderful thank you note. It gives me goose bumps!
Hi Sue,
Back in April, I put an extra note in all your pillowcases I gave out at Bagram AB asking people to write little Rey a postcard. Do you know if he received any?

I have received lots of boxes today! So far I have received boxes from you, Cathy, Kim, ME (2), and Ally. I also received three boxes from Joe at the AAF. I am filling the pillowcases with toothbrushes, puzzles, candy, cards etc. everyone has sent. In a nutshell, I look like Santa Claus walking around this base. I have attached two pictures from tonight and there are more to come.

Background on the pics - the picture of four Navy personnel are support staff at the Counter-insurgency training center at Camp Juliene outside Kabul and the picture of the one man is Col A, Director of the Counter-insurgency training center.

I have more pictures but the internet here is slow and takes forever to upload. I may just burn them all to a disc and send it to you so you can have them all for your website! Everyone has consented to being posted on your website.

Good news about the Ft Hood unit! I have not run into the 20th engineer battalion that I know of but then we don't really ask. It's all one team out here. :)

Thanks again for coordinating the shipment and for all your beautiful pillowcases!
Big hugs! Dawn
