OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Submarine moms are special:

--- All of us have boys, "SAILORS!"

 --- Who serve on "boats,"

 --- With whereabouts unknown, and

--- We only get sporadic, short emails while they're out!

Tell us where your sailor serves...

Good Morning, I started on Navy4moms when my son signed up, now he is finished with school and is going to Hawaii.
Is there a forum or site for individual sub moms or Hawaii based? He will be on the USS Pasadena. Thank You all for helping all of us newbies.
There is a group called "Peal Harbor, HI" . My son is on the USS Hawaii.
There is also a group called "Hawaii" for moms of sailors, etc. with all rates and jobs. I belong to both of the Hawaii groups. My son is an ET Nav on the USS Olympia.
My son is headed to meet up with SSN Asheville 785... he is a Fire Tech. Any other Asheville Mom's out there?
My Son serves aboard the HMS Jackson Blue team out of Bagor, Wa. he is a Chief Nav/ET.
Don't you mean USS Jackson? I think HMS is for British navy.
That is such a hard feeling to deal with. It is a comfort knowing that other moms are going to the same thing. My son is on the Buffalo, and I have been able to connect directly with one of the other Buffalo moms and she keeps me up to date when I don't hear from my son.
I will be in the same "boat" as you in the next few months. Maybe I can get a few pointers from your question also!
My son, Steve, is "Nuke" and a MM3 joining the SSGN Michigan in Bangor, WA. He will be joining the crew in May 2010.
Sharon, I'm afraid that I can't leave a post at your page since you've set it to private, so I'll leave a post here. The other BUFFALO moms I know of are Jenny aka Brad's Momma, Kelly, and Patricia B. (Alex's mom). These are their user IDs, so you should be able to find them by putting the name into the 'Search' box at the top of the page. Hope this helps! k.
#1 son used to be a sonar sup and has served on the USS Annapolis and USS Providence but is now IT on USS Missouri in Groton. Our boys certainly put in a lot of hours.
My sailor will serve on the USS Sante Fe : ) Nukes
