While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

whoohoo! I got my squares in the mail. Well, Dori, mine aren't perfect. I hand wrote on mine and I wish I'd had a thinner tip, but didn't want to wait to send, so went with it. I am quite pleased actually with all 3. I did send 1 extra of AZ cause I forgot I had the beautiful sunset. So use it if you want Lyn or not. I chose the AZ one cause it had many elements of the State plus the state flower on the squaro.
I took photos.
I put the baseball connection in the NJ square, cause we are big fans. Our son played baseball since he was 5 and I started teaching him at 2 to hit the ball. Ben is a left handed pitcher and played some college ball too. He could still play college ball when he goes back, cause he didn't play the whole time he could have. -

Sue, I love your squares, especially the two for Arizona. I don't know which I prefer. Wisconsin is clever. How did you get your black and white background?
Remember squares should not be perfect, that's the Navajo belief. They are created with love and that counts for everything. I think they look quite nice.

this is Kathy McCullough's square, who made Tim's pc. She made a mini pc.
And here is the square that Dori made for Heads at Ease. I was going to draw it, but Dori designed the logo so thought
she would do a better job with her embroidery machine. Just awesome!
A huge thank you to Lyn for starting this quilt and wonderful idea. I had lots of fun researching NJ. Learned all sorts of stuff.

Sue, that was the "rough" draft. I did it on scrap material and you can see the shadow of another letter in it. I will post the final one later. It has a couple of "errors" but will stay that way.
I have had fun researching the states. I just finished the write-up for Tim. I fear I shall bore him to death!
