Does anyone know anything about the A school in Mississippi?  Our granddaughter, a new SR, is suppose to be going there, for Seabee training.  If this is the right state even, can anyone tell me where it is and what we should expect?

here is a good group for you to join to help learn about grad n go http://www.navyformoms.com/group/gradgoinfo
Thanks so much for the information. These groups have been a lifesavor, for I am finding out more than I thought I could. Many questions have been answered, and I thank you all.
If you have more questions about the area, let me know. My son is not in Gulfport, he is stationed on subs - is in Groton, CT. But - I live in Long Beach, the next little town, and drive by the Seebee base several times a week. Did not check your profile info yet to see where you are from, but I will tell you, our winters are very mild - usually only a few days below freezing and then the temps in the daytime will be in the 50s - 60's. Right now is 94*, and the heat index yesterday was 104. Our humidity is usually high. Good luck to your granddaughter. The Navy is the best thing my son could have done.
We are from Indiana, so getting to Great Lakes isn't a problem at all. The way I understand it, she is a grad n go, and will head your way on the 8th of Oct. She took the only thing available to her at the time, so she will be doing some form of construction. Our winters can be horrible and other times not so bad, but will be 30's or below, mostly below. So she will enjoy the milder winter there. Her schooling will be over late in Dec. tho, and who knows after that. Thanks for the information!

My sailor is in Gulfport,Miss.  Seabee Steelworker. Anyone else?
