Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security
Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.
DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.
DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

**UPDATE 4/26/2022** Effective with the May 6, 2022 PIR 4 guests will be allowed. Still must be fully vaccinated to attend.
**UPDATE as of 11/10/2022 PIR vaccination is no longer required.
**UPDATE 7/29/2021** You now must be fully vaccinated in order to attend PIR:
In light of observed changes and impact of the Coronavirus Delta Variant and out of an abundance of caution for our recruits, Sailors, staff, and guests, Recruit Training Command is restricting Pass-in-Review (recruit graduation) to ONLY fully immunized guests (14-days post final COVID vaccination dose).

My Daughter Left For Boot Camp 12-10-12 - Are There Any Other Moms Out There?
My daughter left this evening and now I am awaiting her arrival call. I am so happy for her, proud of her, and scared for her. She's a lil bit of a thing but I know she can do it. I don't like waiting much so this will definitely be a learning experience for me. Hopefully I will get the letter that gives me her mailing address and what ship and division she will be in by the end of the week.

You will most likely receive "the box" by the end of the week, but it is unlikely, although possible, that you will receive the form letter before next week.
You may want to check out http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tvKAhmgkoj4 and http://www.navydep.com/forums/showthread.php?t=433. They will give you an idea of what is happening.
I see you have joined Boot Camp Moms; you may want to join, or at least check out, PIR Reference Information and New Members Stop Here. Once you know your SR’s PIR date and/or division number, watch in Boot Camp Moms and/or at http://www.navyformoms.com/forum/topics/groups-listed-by-pir-date and join the group for that once it has been created. There will be a lot of great information and support for you in those groups as well as in the PIR group. Be sure to check out the Pages (found under the pictures of the Members) and Discussions within the groups.
You may wish to join the group, DEP-Leavin for bootcamp in December, to connect with others with loved ones who may be leaving today or this week and may have PIR with your Future Sailor.

Also, have faith! We never got the, "I made it" call. Then box at day 7, form letter at day 12, and first personal letter around day 21. It was soooooooo hard to bear. I would never have made it through wirhout my N4M group. Find your sailor's PIR group and hang on! It can be a wild ride. Helped me a LOT to look at all the videos about what they do in BC.

PIR group is the group on here of others who have loved ones training with your SR. When is her PIR? From her date of arrival, she should have PIR on either 01/18/2013 or 01/25/2013. Here are the groups for those dates:
PIR 01/25/2013 TG 11 - 9 Divisions (069-076 and 911)
PIR 01/18/2013 TG 10 - 11 Divisions (059-068 and 910)

Oh wow, I would be crazy if I did not get her call. She finally called around 10:30 EST and she sounded like she was in great spirit. I am hoping to receive something at least by the weekend. I am also very grateful for this web site as well, I have learned a lot and I am still learning. I will look for her PIR group today. Thanks again...

Yes ! my daughter also left yesterday from the Cleveland Ohio area. Can't wait till I get the address, so I can show her support. I was also active duty (Army) for 6 years and know how important mail is to a new recruit. I remember being on cloud 9 getting my first letter - but only to find out that it was a letter from my new bank account. I am tearing up know remembering how disappointed I felt.
So, if you have a SR - write, and write often, even if you have nothing to say or not a big writer - as long as they have a letter from you saying that you love them, you're proud of them and maybe the weather ???

Oh wonderful, maybe our daughters will be able to get to know each other. I have three "newsletters" already to mail off to her with pictures and all of the daily things and events that have happened since she left. That address can't get here fast enough. She told me that she wanted me to write her everyday and I will do my best to do it. I am also looking forward to getting my first letter from her.

I know how you feel. My daughter went in on Nov 26. We got the address the first week she was there. I have written her every other day. And she is a little thing too. But has the mind set of getting it done... Good luck to you and your daughter..
