My son goes to MEPS on the 16th. Such mixed emotions right now. I can't wait for graduation in September. I think that's when I'll know everything is going to be alright.
My son leaves tomorrow. He will stay the night in the hotel and fly out on the 10th to GL. Monday's emotions was hard. Today's has been better even though today is his 18th birthday and his last full day at home and of course I am at work. He is spending time with his girlfriend, going to the movies, going bowling but than coming home to eat his "last supper". Tomorrow I am so hoping I will keep it together until he gets on that van/bus to leave than after that buddy I am not promising anything.
My son left on july 1st its been one week today.. I miss him like crazy.. Can't wait for that first phone call.
My son left last Monday June 30th and it has been horrible- i dont think there has been a day that I have not cried. It is the not knowing that is killing me. I received his box last Thursday which I thought was very quick but have yet to receive the letter they send with his graduation date. He said he rode the bus with 5 others from the St. Louis area so hoping he met someone to talk to. They keep saying it gets easier but have yet to notice. Thanks for listening- HockeyMom
Hockeymom,
I feel ya.. I have been the same way. I just received my sons box about a half hour ago and cried like a baby..
Deep down I was hoping he would hide me a special note. When did he leave?
My daughter left on Monday July 7 and I was so upset I misplaced the keys to her car! I find that being back at work is helping. The week I took off to spend time with her was so awful...just waiting for her to leave; she was irritable and just wanted to start the process. I've cried a lot but each day is getting a little better. I know I will get walloped when I have to spend the weekend alone. -Carol
My daughter left this morning. It was bitter sweet. She will stay in a hotel tonight and leaves for Great Lakes tomorrow.
As a mom-it is very hard for me. My son left today. I can only imagine your feelings for your wife. She chose a great path. Blessings to you and your family during these next 8 weeks.
I know how you feel. My daughter left June 16 for boot camp.
